Sunny has had a strange feeling in her chest every time she watches Hitch lately. At first she thinks it's a simple discomfort, but soon she discovers that she begins to have feelings for Maretime Bay's Sheriff...

Hitch has always taken care of Sunny from the other ponies, no matter what they told him about her, he was always there to take care of her. Maybe that's why he stopped seeing Sunny as his friend so long ago.

Due to growing up under Chrysalis' rule, Thorax has never experienced the pony celebrations. After deciding to go to Canterlot to pick up some books on celebrations, he runs into Moon Dancer. The unicorn helping him pick some books out to read. Later, during the Summer Sun Celebration, the two run into each other again.

Sunny Starscout, a misfit in her town of earth ponies, has always wanted to meet a unicorn! And one day, that wish comes true! But, well, it doesn't end exactly on a good note. So now, an optimistic earth pony, a bubbly unicorn, a detective pegasus prince, a pop star princess, a sheriff, and his deputy have to go on an adventure to find three mysterious artifacts to bring back magic and friendship to Equestria.

It won't be easy, but with honesty, kindness, laughter, generosity, loyalty, and the magic of friendship, they're sure to succeed!

Part One of the "Ancient Relics" series.

(Takes place within the universe of Flurry's Favorite Dragon and its related semi-prequels. Familiarity is not required.)

Flurry Heart is in Ponyville for an official royal visit, thus giving her a chance to see the town her Auntie Twily once called home. Since she has some spare time, she decides to stop at Sugarcube Corner for a treat.

As it so happens, the bakery is now being run by Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake, two ponies Flurry briefly met as a foal. The twins, for their part, are impressed and honored to receive a visit from royalty so soon after taking over from their parents.

This unexpected reunion gives the three ponies a chance to exchange news and developments, and share how life in their respective places has been. And it may be just the thing to help them all feel young again, if only for a little while.

Garble enjoys Smolder relaying the tales of Daring Do to him, but he's skeptical of their veracity. Surely there can't be that many mystical ruins around the land, can there? Smolder knows they can be. In fact, she can prove it to him. There's just such a ruin in the Dragonlands, untouched over the ages. She can show him exactly the sort of adventure Daring Do has, right in person!

The sort of adventure Daring Do has doesn't exactly play nice with those persons being dragons, though.

Alphabittle is glad to have his daughter back, but there's still one thing that puzzles him: If Opaline was such a horrible pony to Misty for so long, why didn't Misty leave until after meeting Sunny and her friends? Hoping for answers, he takes advantage of Misty's visit to Bridlewood to ask her directly.

Though hesitant to dwell on her painful past, Misty agrees. It will soon come to light that Opaline herself played in a role preventing Misty from remembering her father or thinking about leaving.

In addition, Opaline once did something that would seem unthinkable. And ti's something that she did solely out of the desire to keep Misty close to her.

Pipp Petals learns of a threat made against her life ahead of one of her upcoming concerts. Her mother's consistent nagging about it thus forces the popstar princess to hire an official bodyguard to be on her security detail.

Hitch decides to volunteer Sprout for the role after hearing of how bored his former deputy is. Sprout, for his part, is not thrilled in the slightest to be spending considerable time with a pegasus, especially one who stills harbors some resentment towards him.

Neverthless, Sprout will try his hardest to protect Pipp's life. Now if only she would listen to him about the dangers in crowds and other potential threats.

While still adjusting to his new life in Equestria, Comet is coming to grips with a strange feeling for one of his friends: Misty. More specifically, he's found himself in love with her, the first time he's ever felt such a thing.

Of course, being a complete stranger to romance and being somewhat socially awkward, Comet struggles with how best to tell Misty. Plus, he isn't sure if she loves him back or if the attraction is one sided.

So Comet does the only thing he can think to do: Turn to his friends for help. But can they really help Comet work up the nerve to confess?
