This story is a sequel to When Darkness Falls

King Sombra, the dark sorcerer and former ruler of the Crystal Empire, has been defeated by Twilight Sparkle and the other bearers of the Elements of Harmony, leaving him stripped of his magic and imprisoned deep below the surface of Canterlot Castle. There, he waits for his chance to take revenge against Princess Celestia and conquer Equestria, though his affection for both his long-lost daughter and the mare that he loves have him question everything that he knows. Can the shadow-pony learn forgiveness and mercy or will he let his deep-seated anger and desire for vengeance consume him?

I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately, like is any of this for real or not?

That’s the question Jakub Sparkle Dash has been asking himself ever since he left Equestria. He left his Family who didn’t know him because of a memory spell gone wrong (with the exception of Shining Armour).

Jakub realises that Power isn’t everything as he trained with different people who had a different view of power, some said that power is used to protect those around you, other said that it’s a curse that will change you forever.

The Keyblade chose Jakub for a reason, but what is the reason he doesn’t know, yet.

On the other hand he must face trials that will forever change who he was when he lived in Equestria, one of those has already happened, he became a Skilled Killer, a grim reaper if you were to face him during the night.

His family and friends are what he cares about the most.
He would risk his own Life to save his loved one, even if it ment his own death.

But, Jakub will face an ultimate test to show if he truly is worthy of being a Keyblade Master.

as for the editor pf this story, well i can't realy say if there is a permanent editor for this fic as of right now, but for now Jaxxon Markus Citadel is filling in the role of editor for this fic.

Luster Dawn is a unicorn filly enrolled at Princess Twilight's School for Gifted Unicorns. After only a year, in which she displayed her exemplary use of magic and expertise at fostering friendships, it would come only as a surprise to her that Princess Twilight Sparkle would offer her the role of being her personal student. Whilst such a thing should have been an honour for the young filly, she can't help but let the stress of carrying such a title weigh heavy on her haunches.

Fortunately, her mother, who isn't the best when it comes to all things emotional, is there to lend her a hoof.

To conqueror your fears, you must face them first, and that is precisely what Twilight means to do.

After the Umbrum's defeat, Sombra and Radiant Hope set out to find the shards of Princess Amore, but the former King is still tormented by guilt. Along the way, he and Hope grow closer - even starting a family. Along the way, Sombra discovers that the journey of redemption is never easy, but that the destination makes it worth it.

Okay...if you've been following me for any length of time, you know that I hated Siege of the Crystal Empire. A lot. I've gone on record and said I consider it the worst comic IDW has ever produced. And that I considered Radiant Hope unsympathetic and do NOT like her.

But I ALSO said I had intents to do fix fics because I felt the amount wasted potential in that comic was a large part of why I hated it.

So when I got this commission, Holycross let me try to fix some of those issues while I was at it.

Note, I didn't say an ACCUSATION fic or a 'beat up the character I dislike' fic. I don't blieve in those.

This wasn't easy to do, given my feelings for the subject matter, but I'm okay with how it came out, I hope you like it!

Determined to learn how to use his Dark Magic for Good, Twilight brought Sombra back to Ponyville with her. After all, what could he possibly do as a horn? ...Or will he stay that way?

The Tree of Harmony, a sophisticated magitech intelligence built long ago during the glory days of the Crystal Empire, has recently been awoken from her beauty sleep again by anomalous activity. Much to the surprise of her leaf-like sensory arrays, the disturbance turns out to be Princess Celestia, who's finally figured out how to converse with Harmony directly in hopes of learning more about her.

When the Princess strikes up a conversation, she soon discovers that one of Equestria's greatest defense mechanisms is actually a rather interesting individual, and she's not been alone in the cave for all these years.
