The neighboring kingdom of Aurora lays to the north of Equestria has always been reclusive. Much like there Queen Eventide, even through there generations of isolationism the diarchy of Equestria has always tried to form relations to no avail.
Queen Eventide had always respectfully decline the many invitations sent by Celestia. Mandatory meeting of the kingdoms was always visited by a trusted representative, and dispatching hardly sincere apologies as she declined to attend the celebrations. Yet to the princesses surprise the queen accepted to attend this years Grand Galloping Gala, why now of all celebrations?
Eventide, the queen, is a unicorn. As was her husband, King Astrid, who has sadly passed. And she to will pass on one day. The royal pony sisters had always wondered why she had not chosen a heir to assend to the throne on the day of her passing. But they didn't know of her only child, her heir. It's been a year now since Twilight vanished after attempting a sonic rainboom. She's spent her time fighting in WWII alongside her brothers in arms. Now, after a bad jump, she finds herself back in Equestria. After a well deserved rest, a nice, warm bath, and the most unusual breakfast, she begins to tell her story.

Red has spent a long life hunting the monsters that threaten her world, creatures that are thought to be naught but legends. They have been considered fairy tales by the general population for hundreds of years. But then, so has she. Now, when another world faces the same beasts that she worked so hard to drive to extinction, she must leave the world she saved, and do it again.

Scootaloo makes a new friend, an Artificial Intelligence who claims she can help Scootaloo fly at last using the power of science and a dash of magic to make a powered flying exoskeleton. Howeaver the development of such advanced technology will cause events all across Equestria nopony could have possibly predicted.

An Equestrian Odyssey: Lightning Dash is a Companion Story to An Equestrian Odyssey. Reading An Equestrian Odyssey is not required as Lightning Dash is a standalone story.

It's well known the damage the Cutie Mark Crusaders can cause. But one day, their damage causes a near personal tragedy for Princess Twilight, which in turn causes her, in a rage, to ban Crusades ever again. Now the Cutie Mark Crusaders must find a new way to find their marks. But how can they, when Crusading is all they've known?

Scootaloo's mother dies after a terrible storm, now the little filly feels alone, sad, pain, friendships will be loss and friendships will be gained.
