As Rarity stepped into her workroom, her sewing machine stashed in the corner and half-finished designs chucked into an overflowing trashcan, she felt her already hollow heart somehow crumble further, still in denial over one simple fact: 

Rarity used to be a designer. A good one and a bad one all at once.

But... she wasn’t a designer anymore. 

And if she wasn’t a designer, then she had no use to anypony. 

And if she had no use to anypony, she was worthless.

And if she was worthless, she was better off dead.

Some of the Bearers of Harmony were born in Ponyville. Some moved there. Twilight Sparkle was the last to arrive, uniting five unlikely mares into a team of heroes who would define an age.

Emphasis on "uniting." The relationships between the other Bearers before that Summer Sun Celebration ranged from "childhood friends" to "might be able to pick each other out of a police lineup." And yet, fate had its ways of preparing for what was to come. Some more subtle than others.

An alien scientist is startled when Pinkie Pie stumbles across his ship in the woods near Ponyville. For him Pinkie is a problem: he's not allowed to make contact with intelligent natives.

Pinkie Pie is overjoyed when she stumbles across an alien spaceship in the woods near Ponyville. For her the alien is a new friend, to be given a Welcome to Ponyville party with all sorts of treats.

Of course, the alien is really alien- a methane-breather who can't leave his refrigerated ship. His biochemistry is very different from a pony's. Can Pinkie Pie find something he can eat that isn't poison? And can he keep other ponies from finding his hiding place and forcing him to leave before he's had his party?

Little bits of stories that I started and then abandoned in favor of other pursuits. One was because I wasn't sure how to progress them past a certain point. The other was because it really dredged up some bad memories and I needed a break from it.

Applejack is known around Ponyville for being one of the most hard-working ponies in Equestria. Unfortunately, that sometimes means getting only a sparse couple hours of sleep at best or pulling all-nighters at worst. Her motto is, "Don't sleep until you succeed."

Rarity is a hard worker too. She works night and day on orders for clients and new designs, trying her best to make sure each and every detail is perfect. However, she knows that proper rest is essential to doing well in all aspects of life.

So when a pony who works until her body can't take it and a pony who works until she feels tired meet up with each other, it'll be a lesson for one...and it'll be a lesson she will never forget.

Inspiration taken from this Wild Kratts fanfic I read many years ago. Not intended to be Rarijack shipping, just friendship fluff.

Set in the future after Season 9.

Sweet Spinner is a freewheeling, devil-may-care kind of mare. She lives by her own rules. She does what she wants. And her latest attempt to find a place to stay for the night might just be the worst idea she ever had.

Twilight Sparkle had assumed the glamour was all there was to her cousin...but somewhere along the line she--and so many others--forgot that a glamour was also another word for façade, and under that façade was a real person.

It was something that, for the longest time, even Glamour herself had forgotten, too busy being everything her parents expected...

But sometimes all it takes is just one person to really look beyond the mask someone wears and find the heart and soul of who they are, to help them see the truth of themselves and cope with what that uncovers. Glamour Shot considered herself beyond lucky to have that one person in her life, because it had opened her eyes to things she would never have come know and treasure otherwise... and in the end, she didn't care what she had to do, she would, if it meant they could be together.

A sidestory set in the universe of Cross The Rubicon, courtesy of my lovely and amazing editor/writing partner--she did such an amazing job on this one! This story delves into the nature of a side character introduced in one of the winter break chapters: Twilight Sparkle's cousin, Glamour Shot. Rubicon is not required, but highly recommended since the character was really meant for that story.

It was fairly simple as far as assignments for the Lord Ambassador of Equestria went. Just a border dispute over a patch of land nocreature really wanted. But then came the summons back to Canterlot, so urgent that it only had four words:

Spike,
Twilight needs you
