When an accident reveals a disturbing truth, Scootaloo gets the news that she will never fly. Her newly found mentor and sister fill-in, Rainbow Dash, must confront a reality where both the hero and a dreamer are broken.

Scootaloo was different from the moment she was born. Her eyes are slightly bigger than the average fillies, she has difficulty with simple words sometimes, and she's the only pegasus that can't fly. She doesn't care about any of that though. She has her two friends, and she has her dad. She has her scooter, and she always has a smile on her face. Her dad knows that she's... a little different... but he loves her anyway, and has promised to always be there for her.

What happens though, when she finds out what makes her a little bit different? Why the teachers look at her differently, why some of the other ponies tease her and pull her wings? What happens when she is told what makes her different from other ponies? Scootaloo knows there's nothing wrong with her... is there?

Or at least, that is how it seems to her. But when a rainbow colored pegasus asks her out on a date, will she learn to see past it, or will her secret tear apart a budding relationship?

Day after day, I tried – and day after day, I failed, until finally I was ready to just give up. I’d never be able to do it. Nopony would ever be able to help me to fly...

...until one day, somepony did.

SweetieBell falls in love with the new pony at her school, However, this new pony harbors a deep secret, a secret nopony knows except ponies from his old home.

He raised her. He took care of her. He loved her. And after years of living in Equestria, of being forced into a fugue state by a cruel memory spell, she now remembers him. And, like a good daughter, she wishes to be with Daddy again.

Thus begins Rainbow Dash's journey. It is a journey for the ages. Flying over continents, oceans, purple mountains; there is no length so epic that it will prevent Rainbow from reuniting with the only person who matters in her life. Rainbow will have to outsmart nations, outfly monsters, and combat evils of every shape and form in order to finish her weary odyssey.

This is about more than Equestria. This is about more than simple Equestrian/Homo sapien relations. This is more important than friendship or rainbow lasers or weekly morals for a youthful demographic. This is about love, joy, honor, and sacrifice.

This is none other than the return. The Return of His Little Dashie.
