This story is a sequel to Sweet Affection

It's been months since the Cutie Mark Crusaders tried helping Rumble with his crush, or rather Scootaloo tried getting Rumble to like her even though he liked Sweetie Belle. All that's been resolved and Rumble is happy with his new marefriend.

Now both Sweetie Belle and Rumble's best friend Dinky are training with Twilight Sparkle to further their magic, but when asked to go to The Changeling Hive, Starlight Glimmer takes over as a mentor. How will she fair when trying to be both a mentor and an older sister to these foals?

Plus Tender Taps has been having some troubles of his own, such as finding his own filly to be with. Perhaps Rumble can help him, just as Tender Taps might be able to help Rumble.

And what happens when they suddenly have to go against Changelings?

Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle want to help Scootaloo with her crush on Rumble, seeing that she's too stubborn to admit her feelings, also getting assistance from the dancing pony Tender Taps. Dinky wants to help Rumble with his crush, but unfortunately for the Crusaders, Rumble's affection seemed to be focused on a sweet little Unicorn Filly. Apple Bloom hopes to get Scootaloo her colt, unless Sweetie Belle herself starts to return Rumble's feelings.

After putting on the Element of Magic, Sunset Shimmer was shown just how much of a monster she really is. But that wasn't all the Elements did to her.

Sunset has now been forced to serve penance by answering any question truthfully and by doing anything asked of her, whether she wants to or not.

And she really doesn't want to.

Until all of the hatred in her heart is gone, Sunset is at the whim of her peers, unbeknownst to them of course. Can her new "friends" help her down the road to redemption?

If not, there's always that other Twilight Sparkle she keeps running into.

Twilight Sparkle's experimental interplanetary drive has malfunctioned, stranding Starlight Glimmer, Spitfire, Cherry Berry, a changeling and a dragon on a hostile planet in another universe. With limited food supplies, very little magic, no communications with home, and no way to leave the planet, they must survive until somepony rescues them.

Fortunately they crashed right next door to another creature with the exact same problem- a creature named Mark Watney.

They're going to science the buck out of everything- and do whatever it takes to survive Mars and get everybody home.
