As the years drew on, Spike's childish heart grew into that of a true adult, longing for the finer things in life; the finest things. He pursues his relationship with Rarity, but all does not go as planned.

Filled with anger and sorrow, Spike and Rarity fall away from one another. In his grief, Spike pursues new interests, and their friendship is in danger of never recovering.

But perhaps the truest words in life are these: you do not know what you had until you have lost it. Jealous and alone, finding no comfort in stallions she once loved, can Rarity reclaim her one chance at true love, before it is too late?

"He truly loved her and knew she loved him just as much. The dragon gulped deeply as a fluttering sensation occupied his stomach. He didn't just love Twilight as a friend."

After finally giving up on Rarity, Spike realizes that the true mare of his dreams has been in his company for a lifetime, but is unsure if Twilight would ever consider him as more than a great friend and assistant. The only way he can find out is ask.

When knowledge of Sunburst's great skill in magical theory spreads to the small Streamhaven University, he's offered a position on a time travel experiment. Knowing of Starlight's history with time travel, he invites her to see the moment of truth, the first actual use of the time machine. Starlight accepts. After all, what could possibly go wrong?

Everything. The time machine malfunctions. The project director disappears. Time begins stuttering. And Starlight and Sunburst find themselves pursued by the mysterious Monarch Solutions, a company that knows much more about time travel than they should. Now it's up to Starlight and Sunburst to find a solution to their predicament before time itself ends forever.

Although a crossover with Quantum Break, no knowledge of it is needed to understand this story.

An alternate story about Nightmare Rarity, the battle on the moon and in Ponyville, and its aftermath. We see this story through the eyes of four different ponies of how this dark tale unfolds for them all.

I had this idea ever since I read the main comic about Nightmare Rarity and how Spike did everything he could for her. I have always been a Sparity lover and it just frustrates me to see a great opportunity go by or not go into detail. Although I did not originally intend for it to be sad but as I began writing and forming the story it just sorta lead to it. I hope you like it!
