The holidays are fast approaching for the city of Canterlot. Snow is on the ground, carols fill the air, and the students of Canterlot High await release for winter vacation. However, its never peaceful in Canterlot for long. Right when things are looking calm, secrets start spilling around the school. With more being revealed each day, all eyes turn to Sunset Shimmer, the former bully of CHS. With the school turning against her and no clues to follow, can she possibly figure out the culprit and clear her name?
Of course she can. You know this story. At least, I assume you do. You're probably here because you want to see an alternate take on the event after all. A timeline can be altered drastically with nothing more than a single decision, just one choice, at the right place and time. So the proper question is: Can Sunset make it to her happy ending...and will the choice even be hers to start with?

There's just one problem....She didn't.
You guys know Dainn's "Anon-A-miss" Story. But if you don't, leave now, and go read his story. This story is a direct branchoff from his, continuing immediately after chapter 5 of his story. You NEED to read his story up until chapter 5, to understand what's going on in this one.
This will be a darker telling of what goes on after chapter 5 of his story.

With weeks to go before Sunset is to realize her dream - being adopted by the family she loves more than anything - her world is about to fall apart: the human Sunset Shimmer has reappeared and it's only a matter of time before her loved ones come across the human girl who has no clue of what has happened over the course of the past five years.
But if that's not enough, Divine Right and Cantata Blast begin their final plans to summon a force beyond comprehension and to bring the world to its knees using arcane powers. All it calls for is a sacrifice, or two...or more.
Fortunately, they can be stopped.
Unfortunately, the one who can stop them's a little busy with personal issues at the moment....

Sunset is feeling abandoned and alone during the Anon-a-Miss incident. With the portal to Equestria inexplicably closed, and every page of her journal mysteriously blank, she can't even ask Princess Twilight for help. After receiving a text from Rainbow Dash, Sunset heads to CHS at night, not knowing it is an ambush set up by Gilda. But before Gilda and company can even touch Sunset, shadowy creatures appear in the gym, and when Sunset chooses to fight the creatures to save Gilda and co, a mysterious key-shaped sword appears in her hand.
(Prior knowledge of Kingdom Hearts is not required, but may make it easier to understand some individuals and events that are alluded to.)

3 things to keep in mind:
1) Even though this is a Kingdom Hearts crossover, Sunset will not be traveling to other worlds. The entirety of the story takes place in Equestria Girls Canterlot.
2) In the spirit of Kingdom Hearts, there will be multiple Boss fights. I will not reveal what those fights are, or even offer hints to that end. You are welcome to guess, just don't expect me say if you're right or wrong. Those who pay attention may be able to figure them out ahead of time.
3) Even though this is an Anon-a-Miss story, I intend to have that part of the plot wrapped up after the First Boss, and the HuMane 5 reconciling with Sunset will be finished after the Second or Third Boss.

In the Human World, Sunset has just realized the truth about herself. Will she change her ways or will she destroy Twilight's life.

One struggles against her loathing, while the other seeks to help, both have no idea how their lives are about to change, and how much they well come to rely on each other.
A group simply known as the Organization seeks to create an arms race, using a powerful weapon known as the Firestorm Protocols, but when Twilight and Sunset find one of the protocols, can they come together to stop the Organization's plans? Secrets are revealed, allegiances are tested, and the fate of the world hangs in the balance, the Firestorm Crisis has begun...!
Note: This takes place in an Alt. Universe after the events of the Fall Formal and a little before Rainbow Rocks. Pony!Twilight never arrived to EQG world and CHS, but Human!Twilight did.
