Trixie has been best friends with Starlight Glimmer for months now, and the bond between them has never been stronger. But, after a bull-headed mistake and lack of critical thinking, Trixie manages to leave Starlight Glimmer angry and disappointed. Again.

Over the course of a single day, Trixie takes the steps to make things right between the two of them and, in doing so, instantly discovers some feelings inside of her that she never thought possible. Her best friend was kind, sweet, and yes, very hot. And now she was in love with her.

The Great and Powerful Trixie has been working smaller venues than she is used to ever since the debacle in Ponyville. But that's not that big a deal for her, she's had to start from the bottom before. But just as she's reaching the heights she once knew and is poised to shoot even further, she runs into an annoyance from her past, one that seems dedicated to remaining an annoyance.

Set not too far after Trixie's first appearance in the series, and obviously going to ignore later appearances. Just something I thought of when thinking about Trixie's character and imagining some more depth behind it.
Teen for drinking scene and some implied bedroom business later, though nothing on screen.

Let me know what you think. This is my first time not writing from the view of one of the mane six, though the point of the story means my usual attempts to portray characters accurately will not be a factor.

Update: this story is now extending from it's original premise. While the feel of it should not change too much there will be more and potentially more mature content. Shouldn't be anything too bad but it's become a little more spontaneous so I'm not sure what kind of content should be expected at this point.

Trixie has learned a great deal from Twilight, whether she wants to admit it or not. While she may never summon the courage to tell Twilight directly, she may write a letter to spill her feelings out. To clear the air, to gather her thoughts.
To show Twilight just how much she has changed after all this time, and how friendship can change a pony.

This fic takes the form of a letter written to Twilight from the perspective of Trixie.

Fluttershy is used to nursing critters of all sorts back to health. When she comes across a broken showmare, however, it will take all her patience and care to help the other pony. Especially when Trixie begrudges her help every step of the way. Can she get through to her? And can Trixie learn that she doesn't need to stand alone to stand strong?

One evening on the eve of the Grand Galloping Gala, Starlight Glimmer can think of only one pony she wants to be her plus one, her best friend Trixie. Seeing no other alternative but to face her fears and ask Trixie out herself, Starlight pays the show mare a visit. The discussion that ensues however, is far from what Starlight was expecting. She just can't understand how Trixie is only a size Ursa Minor.

Starlight Glimmer takes Trixie for a stroll through the human world.

Things haven’t exactly gone well for Trixie. Ever since the Alicorn Amulet incident she has seen her own fortunes shrink while Twilight's continues to soar. Now Twilight is an Alicorn and Trixie feels left behind. But Trixie has a plan; one Discord is all too willing to aid her in. For a price.

Fillydelphia! City of a thousand glittering opportunities! Come to Fillydelphia! Get your mane cut! Divorce your spouse! Buy a chariot! Rent a condo! Fillydelphia! The city that glows like the gin blossoms on its mayor’s face!

Trixie and Gilda have been in Fillydelphia for some time, and it’s almost, but not quite, to their taste. There’s no good work — at least, no good work with monthly paychecks, annual performance reviews and a promotion track that doesn’t involve murder — for a travelling illusionist and an uncertified bouncer, so to cover the rent they’ve had to resort to bad work.

Well, not bad bad work. And certainly not that sort of bad work. The hours are good, the pay is more than adequate, and the people they meet are interesting.

They cater to a certain clientele, ponies who know it’s not just what you have in life that makes you happy, but what you don’t have. Like vengeful rivals. Or snitches. Or nosy detectives.

Or dead bodies.

When that is the particular problem, Gilda and Trixie get a call. For a reasonable price and a good reference, they’ll make your problem disappear...

Twilight Sparkle regrets a lot of decisions. Not spending more time with her family. Wasting away in a library rather than being out making friends, among other things. But when she can she attempts to make right what she feels she has done wrong.

And an opportunity to do that has presented itself.

When her friends return from Manehatten having encountered a former enemy, Twilight sets off in search of somepony Great and Powerful, to do what she feels she should have done a long time ago.

Sometimes though, the damage done can't be repaired, mistakes aren't forgiven, and the opportunity passes by.

Takes place after Season 4.

It's been quite some time since Trixie Lulamoon and Starlight Glimmer unexpectedly met— and nothing has stayed the same since. Through the past few years, many ups and downs, revelations and resolutions, it just takes one night to change their lives all over again.
