Meant as a gift to Estee for the Tryptych Continuum and in particular Miranda Rights, the beleaguered and frequently overloaded Ponyville Chief of Police in the center of Chaos. (and occasionally host to Discord) Rain or shine, quiet nights or rampaging monsters, the thin blue line of the Ponyville police never breaks. (although at times it frays a bit)

After taking the throne, Twilight had a lot of things to do - a transition that had never happened before was bound to be fraught with a thousand unexpected complications.

As part of the transition, Twilight finds herself going through Princess Celestia's old personal papers, finding secret after clue after instruction long forgotten about. And among those papers, Twilight finds a letter.

Tempest Shadow is still unsteady on her hooves, struggling with the decision she made to turn her back on the Storm King. She isn't sure where she fits in, in the bright and colorful world she left behind as a filly. All she can see is the weakness that peace and tranquility has bred into society, and when a new threat rises up, Tempest Shadow might be the only pony who's willing to face it down.
