How hard can writing novels be, anyway?

A Story for Nightmare Night... · 9:12pm Oct 27th, 2022

My new story, The Manehattan Anomaly, is my first serious fic-writing experience in nearly a decade, and it's amazing to think that it's finally going out into the world.

I started it back in April as part of a horror write-off, but somewhere in the final few days of that month, I realized it needed much more time, care, and effort. So I promptly stopped working on it until September. As you do.

However, since September, and especially in October, I've been writing as hard as I can. And I don't think I've ever been as productive as have been in the last handful of weeks. It's all a blur, and I feel burned out and stretched thin, and I'm not even really sure that this story is all that great, in the end. But I am proud of the effort. And, once the final chapter is published, I'll have proven to myself that I can actually finish something. What an idea!

Anyway, that's enough feverish rambling. Go check out the story if it interests you, let me know what you think about it, and try not to trip over any ghosts or ghouls along the way - 'tis the season!
