Twilight Sparkle Improving Lives? (Friendship is Failure)

    People sure love to complain...

She always tries her best to get through to those with friendship problems and help them improve their lives, no matter how much they reject and act hostile towards her.

She gets disrespected a lot because she wants to help people, even though she's a princess who's saved Equestria on multiple occasions.

    Sentencing Characters (Dragnet Style)

As you know (Or some of you at least) The Writer is the one in charge. The Writer is the master. The Writer... is... God (Of the world the write anyway)

What will it Change? (Trying means Nothing!)

In relation to my previous blog, https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/1035717/i-have-to-or-you-just-want-me-to which relates to "Are you doing it for ME or YOURSELF?"

People still get up my back saying I need to "Get Help" "Change my groove" or, and the most often said "Fix your writing-- make it better/different"

I HAVE to, or you just WANT me to?

People often go about saying... "You HAVE to move on." "You HAVE to let go." "You HAVE to Improve" "You HAVE to this" "You HAVE to that."

But here's the real deal to consider. Do I really HAVE to, or do you just WANT me to? That's the ideal.

The Show is over (Means nothing)

A lot of people have been getting up my back lately, all yakking at me the same thing.

The show ended (This many) years ago. Why are you still making stories if they no longer have purpose?

Idiots... that's not how it works.

A comment was posted in 2020 regarding me, and And I'm afraid the person's got things horribly backwards, and contradicting. ( I will name no names)

Better people than I have pointed out legitimate flaws with his fics and he still got upset about them.

Because it doesn't matter if you are civil. You are still trying to Boss me around, and demanding I make MY STUFF to suit YOUR preferences. (Turning the fic into something I do not like or want)

As viewer, you can be civil and point out a couple things, like grammar errors, or funny mistakes I may have made. (Like when I make a Yugioh move that can't really happen)

But... No matter how you try and slice it, you as a Viewer have no say in how to story should be written plot-wise. That goes the same for me, and for others. We can't just yell into the TV and tell them "Do this" or "Act like that" It won't change no matter what.

He reminds me of a lot of modern shows including, ironically or perhaps fittingly, Teen Titans Go who would rather mock and attack critics than consider anything wrong with their material. Sadly My Little Pony is guilty of it as well if their Fame and Misfortune episode is anything to go by.

Criticism is one thing... Bullying is something else...

If I don't change to your liking, you and your peeps STILL mock, flame, and insult me and my actual fans (Usually for the thrill of it) Now is that fair or right?

This is a site about writing fan fiction, and posting cool things for people to see and think about, but you're trying to turn it into one big popularity contest. (Like you get to decide who's in and who's out) That's not how it goes.

I understand the characters aren't perfect but some episodes and characters still could've been handled better. Course it's less in your face about it compared to TTG. Don't even get me started on Gravity Falls' handling on Mabel though. "Mabel's a straight up saint"? Seriously?

The fact is, they weren't handled better, which is why people are angry at them.

Some things in episodes should not happen at all, like MARKS FOR EFFORTS: when Twilight banned the CMC from her school after falsely accusing them of making Cozy Glow fail her test. She wouldn't even hear them out or gather any proof. That is a mistake that Twilight Sparkle should NEVER make... not even out of impulse. (Nobody's Perfect... doesn't excuse her this time)

Basically I hate when shows address characters' flaws and instead of seeing development,we're just told to accept it.

But you and your peeps tell me to accept that all the time.

"Get over it"

"Move on"

"Let go of the past."

One person I've been dealing with lately on a chatzy, she has a huge writing-disorder (She doesn't listen, she doesn't remember, and horribly contradicts herself)

She says: "Trying to destroy your memories makes you a bad person."

And yet, THINGS CHANGE (Teen Titans 2003) She's all for what Terra did (Trying to forget her past) and that BB should just move on and excepted. (You don't get to do that)

That is complete and total hypocrisy.

Suppose Twilight Sparkle told me that "You have to accept it, and you have to move on and let got of the past"

What if then, her friends all died (What if I killed them)

I could go to her. "Ah, you'll get over it. I seem to recall You... have to accept it. You have to move on... and let go of the past."

True, Syndrome is extremely vile and cruel (Taking pleasure that he supposedly killed his enemy's family) But in my view, that Solid Burn was legit and justified!

It comes off as lazy and kinda egocentric on the creators' part. Like they seriously believe they can do no wrong. Course some of them probably just care about the paycheck. Whichever comes first

That is a possibility, but also consider this...

Life is not fair sometimes. Sometimes things just happen.

Young Justice said: "Even when you do everything right, bad things can still happen"

-You do your work, and your boss will not pay you
-You may save someone's life, and they'll not give you any praise
-You may try with all your might to achieve... but never do because people don't want you to.

...Sometimes you can find yourself having to make a hard decision, even if it involves making sacrifices.

REAL Super Heroes have to make Sacrifices and THE CALL, all the time. It comes with the package, and the fact that the Ponies and the Equestria Girls don't make sacrifices, or are not motivated by pain, and never have heartbreaking endings, make me disregard them as heroes.

It's that kind of attitude that's one of my few gripes with fanfiction. Many people write whatever they want and then get outraged over anyone having the slightest critique. They use that "Don't Like, Don't Read" excuse

That's what Fanfiction is basically for (Self-Serving). We don't like how the characters are, or what they did in Canon, so we use Fan Fiction to alter it to our own liking. (Whether or not the people will like it is a complete Gamble)

I write fanfiction to bash and punish the characters for doing things in Canon I do not approve of, or to fix relationships and things I didn't like seeing. I write for my own satisfaction and revenge. I'm not here to learn to be a better writer for some career.

and the "Don't like, Don't read" excuse is QUITE legit.

I didn't MAKE you read the story. Just because I posted it, I didn't make you click on the mouse and read it. (You did that on your own accord) You didn't HAVE to read it all (You just WANTED to) you didn't HAVE to make rude comments or demands of changing the story.

-You don't like what I've written? That's YOUR problem, not mine. (I'm not here to cater to YOUR specific needs)

-You want to see character growth and development, but you don't find it in my stories? Well then, you've come to the wrong place.

-Go find someone ELSE's story that has what you like...

-Or... Write up a story yourself.

-But DO NOT barge into MY area, and demand I make MY stuff the way YOU want it. (That's being a control-freak bully, not a helpful critic) There's no rule or law that says I HAVE to comply with my audiences demands.

while acting as if they're the greatest thing since Stephen King. (Even if you're not a Stephen King fan that guy has so many books written that it's ridiculous)

We just don't like being bossed around...

Besides... you, yourself, and your peeps act like you're the greatest things simply because you have different tastes, or you claim to know everything.

and let me tell you something about another famous author... LEO TOLSTOY. He wrote WAR AND PEACE, which is considered one of the greatest masterpieces ever made.

...Tolstoy HATED War and Peace. He didn't even consider it a novel. It went against everything he believed in.

Just like Tolstoy, if I were to write stories with plots I didn't like or didn't want, I'd be pretty grumpy too.

Yes people can write whatever they want when it comes to fanfiction but that doesn't necessarily mean it's good writing.

That doesn't necessarily make it BAD either.

It's all a matter of your own preferences. But just because It's good/bad for you, doesn't mean it's good/bad for everyone.

There is no IN GENERAL when it comes to this stuff. It's only a matter of the viewers personal opinion, and ONE PERSON does not equal One-billion.

Characters don't REALLY have to have growth, or learn lessons or things.

It's just a matter of what people LIKE to read about, and those change all the time.

People can try to argue against it all they want but there are certain qualifications for good writing. Good as in properly written, not just enjoyable. You can enjoy something, you can like something, but those alone don't make it good.

Unfortunately, most people (Myself included) prefer ENJOYMENT, and that is the only qualification we seek. It doesn't matter how well the story is written or what other qualifications it has. We come for CERTAIN THINGS and they only. If we don't get them... well, the fic fails to us.

Same applies to you for the way you act when you dub a fic is bad... You didn't get what you wanted, so you make a huge stink of it and demand the write changes it to what YOU want. (You have no right to do such thing)

Going back to modern entertainment. Nowadays whenever something, say a movie, is bad, the businesses try to blame the viewers. It can't possibly be because the movie itself is a bad movie; bad acting or badly written. No it has to be because the audience is full of assholes who are being assholes for the sake of it.

Sometimes, that is the case, but that, too, relates to the viewers preference. People prefer to read or watch things for satisfaction... not good writing.

I've seen Mykan's debates with other people and his arguments are pretty much the same thing; his characters will do whatever they want, he'll downplay their actions, twist what the other person was saying; basically he doesn't care what you have to say.

You people did that with me all the time, you even told people lies about me... that I wanted to rape people, or that I had hot sexy dreams, or that I shot someone.

...Most of you guys came from Mocking and tabloid websites where you took things and mocked them just for quick thrills.

Some of you even confessed, "I love being an asshole, and I need my daily laugh"

Just like most modern entertainment he writes whatever he wants and acts like it's everyone else's fault for any problems they have with his fics. I also think nowadays he's taken advantage of everyone's ignorance to guarantee looking like the victim.

-First of all: again, It's MY STORIES, I CAN and WILL do whatever I want. If you don't like it... you don't have to read it, and you certainly don't have to give me a hard time about it.

-Second: A lot of you ARE extremely ignorant...

Examples include:

-Friendship is the ONLY way to do something. (No it's not.)

-When something can be improved, you automatically insist that it CHANGE and improve right away. (Just because things CAN change, or can be improved, doesn't mean they HAVE TO BE or even SHOULD) "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

-The biggest flaw a lot of you have is being Overly-Optimistic

It's okay to be optimistic, but being OVERLY optimistic can blind you from what is over Overly REALISTIC.

A lot of you call ME ignorant because you claim I think "Bad things will happen no matter what."

I know GOOD things can happen, I know you can get things by WORKING for them, I know there are possibilities and stuff...

...I just don't like or don't want them to happen in certain places. That's not being ignorant, that's being demanding.

Example:

I know Beast Boy can breakup with Terra and still led a good life with good friends and great opportunities (That's ONE way he can go) But I don't want that.

I want things to only get worse for him (People hate on him, push him over the edge, resulting him in snapping out of morality and getting revenge) That's what I want. It's not being ignorant. Those are my demands (Hence my own fanfiction)

It doesn't hurt that aside from references, he doesn't personally name us. He may or may not take advantage of these newer blogs to paint us like the bad guys for seemingly escalating things while he is simply "defending himself".

Oh, I am defending myself, and I have every right to no matter what the people say ("You have no rights.") They're just being dickwads.

People should hear BOTH sides of the story, instead of acting like the SPEAR HERO (Believing everything that is said at the drop of a hat without even considering or searching for the facts and proof)

I say everyone who has a deconstruction fic, just focus on those. Their existence and the fact that people like them annoys Mykan enough. (Though he'll probably say people only say they like the fics out of spite and not because they're actually good)

Actually, they were made out of spite. The writers said so themselves, and when I wrote stories I hated like Twilight's Wedding story... they told me they were going thumb me up just to spite me.

That and I'm worried this might wind up leading to some crazy blog war down the road. If it hasn't already by all this back and forth.

Well, and this time I'm not wrong... you people did bring it on yourselves.

You could've left me and my works well in peace to do as I wanted and not harm anything, but you all chose to be rude, pick at me, lie about me, and harm me mostly for pure thrill.

True, I could've just as easily not responded (But I am entitled to tell my side of things)

...You wanted trouble, and you got it.

Here is the bottom-line.

...You need to stop expecting/demanding me and others to roll over and play dead because you're satisfied, and you need to stop treating writing like it's popularity contest.

It's my story, and I'll do what I want with it... if you don't like it, not my problem. I'm not going to write to YOUR specifications, or change my life style, or even leave this website and stop writing simply because YOU demand it.

I agree! Just because I don’t like how a story’s going doesn’t give me the right to try and FORCE the author to change it. It’s their story and only they have a say in how it goes. Who knows? Maybe if something happens that I don’t like actually happens in a story, it may grab my attention and see where the author is going with their idea. It’s your decision alone to make any changes to your story or how to write it.

Yes exactly. Good for you, and if you are nice enough, the author will be nice enough and reply.
