This weird thing that keeps happening · 9:19pm Oct 5th, 2022

There is a person I told years ago I had nothing to say to them. Their replies were usually too shallow to take seriously, when they didn't outright lie. So, I decided it to be a waste of time talking with them anymore.

Ever since then, I've dutifully kept from replying directly to them. The only exception happened recently, when I had to ask of them to not to speak on my behalf, followed by a more direct request to never speak to me again. However, they keep replying to my comments on every forum they catch me on.

Also, every time this person talks, it only reaffirms me not wanting to start a conversation with their ignorant and shallow person.

This is just venting, BTW. Though they get annoying from time to time (usually when saying something painfully stupid), I find the situation sort of amusing, in Kafkian sense of the word.

Odd. This person got a name so I can tell them to f*** off?

Nah, it's okay. Honestly, I do get a few laughs when they post something that's an outright lie and I post under them (without replying directly) the sources that disprove what they just lied about.

You know me. I'm petty like that.

Interesting, I'm guessing this person doesn't have a life huh? It really sounds like they have nothing better to do but waste their time.

They have more spare time than I, of that I'm sure. Another layer could be that they don't have anyone else to act as their counterpart in a discussion, so they keep trying to goad me into one.

For the record, I don't mind discussing and outright debating in general, but things like fallacies of lying tire me.

I like to discuss things as well but honestly, to me public discussion don't tend to go well depending on the topic. I prefer one to one when it comes to topics like gaming because it has so much bad blood flowing through it. Overall discussion is nice, but man it gets bad when you talk about gaming for example.

As well I agree, the fallacies of lying are not fun to deal with.

Eh, hit and miss. I'm more of a comics and animation fan, but let's be honest, almost all wider fandoms are self-destructive these days (those poor R&M fans who have to put up with R&M fans).

Anyhow, one can get a nice discussion, and even a new friend, when participating in open discussions. But in my opinion, it's also important to not take anything too serious, and remember that everything is a matter of perspective, really.

P.D.: I meant to type "fallacies or lying", but since fallacies operate under dishonesty anyways, a fallacy of lying is also a plausible thing.

Comics aren't my thing, too many people have shoved it in my face for me to really enjoy them. Gaming and animation, more specifically animation in games is more my thing. A lot can be told about the personality of an enemy though their animations alone. As well there looks and how they behave.

I wish gamers took your advice on not taking topics too seriously. I often feel like I can't say I like a game without the feeling someone would take offense to it and the discussion would become where people only will throw insults at you.

Which is why i prefer one to one when it comes to gaming topics. One to one in my experience tends to be chill while public has people who want to be angry and tear into something
