PSU went POP, and system went DED · 11:21pm Sep 10th, 2022
I started to remodel my computer. I changed the chasis to a mini ITX one, so I bought the case and the board and proceeded to disassemble, clean, and reassemble all components. Then I conected the power cable and I felt a loud POP! And the system went dead…
I’m pretty sure the power supply did it, so I changed it and now the board turns on some lights (the network utp cable ones) when I turn on the new PSU, but doesn’t start the computer when I push the power button. Doesn’t even beep to tell me what’s wrong, so I’ll be investigating it.
The thing is… my stories are in those hard drives, and I could take them away and connect them to other computer, but I’ll be focusing my free time on getting the computer running again, just in case someone notices a lack of updates these days for ‘Still no Signal’.
EDIT: Ok, I have been able to put it back together again. Now to install all the stuff again.
Late comment but stuff like this happens when you don't plug it in a surge protector connector or power strip. I literally did this a week ago when building my R9 7900X build. My PSU popped a capacitor. Plugging directly into an outlet bare is a no-no.
Also, if you have a google account, I'd upload to google docs as a back up, just incase this happens.
