Hey all... been a while, huh? · 10:05pm Sep 1st, 2022
Hello everyone! dastrdlyW here. Most of you probably read the first story I had featured on Equestria Daily, Sparkle No More, which was inspired by two pieces of art I saw on DeviantArt. I worked on that story on and off for five years. Mostly off, but still.
In the end, it is definitely one of the things I'm most proud of that I've written. I was an avid roleplayer on Gaia Online (also on and off) since 2006. At the start of this year during one of my kicks, I decided I wanted art of the characters I've had in my head since for the past 16 years. I never imagined that desire would spiral into what it did.
I'm pleased to announce that I've started an original piece of fiction based on these characters, and I plan to release it when finished. What started out as wanting to find an artist for a commission ended with me hiring an illustrator for this project.
I don't have an ETA for release, but these past few weeks I've made such intense progress on it, and pieces of art are coming to life. I've created a twitter account for this book. Please give a follow here. You can also follow my main account if you wish. Updates of this story will be posted in both locations, and I hope some of you may be interested in this project of mine.
I have not abandoned the pony fandom either. I'm still very much a member, albeit less content creation now for it. However, MLP: FiM will forever be a piece of who I am, and I honestly believe that if I hadn't done what I did with Sparkle No More, and received the overall reaction to it that I did, I don't know if I would've ever thought to start writing a book about these characters. I still remember one day after posting a chapter, waking up the next morning to see a different and older one of my stories in the "popular" section.
So from the bottom of my heart, I truly appreciate everyone who's commented and followed me here for the stories I wrote, and supported me during writing. I hope to see some of you follow me on Twitter as well.
And please comment on here as well if you wish to see more updates about this project here.
Thank you.
