Comedy Story

I want to write a comedy story. I want to take I Am Not Sombra and turn it into a parody of itself, but IDK if people would read it cause it'd be the same thing except completely unserious and have lame humor in it.

I Haven't read the Original; as such, I would read both simultaneously and try and find the differences.

I would not read it. You say itll be the same basically just with added humor. So really its like reading the same story when you know everything thats going to happen. Re reading is fine when its with stories i really really liked, but i am not sombra was just a good story and doesnt need any changes

But honestly, I think it could work, although that sorta depends on how you go about it. Numerous parodies have been made that follow the same exact plot as the source material, but are still fundamentally different experiences. I think so long as it isn't just a change in where the characters don't take the situation seriously, then people who have read the original might be able to read it without getting bored.

As much as I love your writing, If you were wanting to do this I'd do a much shorter story than before. I'm not a super huge fan of re-boots and re-imaginings, even if it is just for a laugh. It's why I refuse to watch any superhero movies, I'd rather you take the time to flesh out something more interesting.

If you want to do it because you think it'd be fun though, do it. The things you have fun with are the most worth doing, and I've lost a lot of good authors to fans trying to tell them what to do. Be you!
