The Bad News: Underhive 733 And Griffon Story Cancellation · 9:12pm Jul 17th, 2022

I'm going to be honest: I can't write my planned Griffon story. And for related reasons, I can't write Underhive 733. Basically, it boils down to interest and writer's block. I am not interested in reading stories that are all canon or all OCs. I need a human, or some sort of outsider, for the story to be enjoyable enough to read. There are a few exceptions to this, but not many. As for writing a story: if I am not interested enough in reading it, I most definitely am not interested in writing it. As a result, I have no enthusiasm for writing my planned Griffon story. It's an all-OC story with no HiE.

Underhive 733 is... slightly related. It would mostly be an action novel, with focus on how the members of the squad interacted with each other, and their experience with the Underhive. Unfortunately, mostly-action is mostly-boring. I'm definitely reusing the Griffon story's planned stuff in the future, probably for CE3, but Underhive 733 is much trickier to reuse. Maybe eventually I'll go back and write it, but... I don't know.

As it stands, I have no desire to write it. So instead, I'll be moving on to Changing Expectations 2. More info about that in my next blog.

I could post my notes for U733, but considering two of the main twists are going to be relevant in CE2, I probably wont.

Well, sad to see the griffon story fall through, but I can't really complain about CE2 coming sooner than expected. Hopefully that one works out better.

You could always use reincarnation and shove a human among griffons anyway, but to be perfectly honest I am looking forward to more Phasma.

The HiE trope is what got me reading stuff here so that’s my main draw. Hearing that CE2 is getting bumped up the que is definitely pleasant to hear.

Sad to see it go, happy to see CE2

If I recall correctly, your griffin story was planned to be about the griffin civil war and the aftermath that all occurred during and after CE, and you mentioned a Griffin “Hero” had arrived towards the end of CE,that could be a human in a somewhat similar situation to Phasma, but perhaps a darker, more evil mirror to Phasma. Remember, Phasma was never evil, just doing what he thought was necessary or the closest thing to a good choice. This Human turned Griffin could be the exact opposite.

By the way a U733 or similar themed DnD has been kinda talked about so that's one way it might be reused for

Well, at least we will get an explaintion of how the Princess ended up in Godspliter in the CE2.

Or at least I hope so.

Disappointing, but respectable. Good luck.

I was hoping to find out how the Griffin story would have tied into or affected CE2 but hearing that it might tie into CE3 means that the Griffins have no effects in the story. We can only speculate what the plan for the Griffin story would have been.

I honestly think you don't need a HiE, you need an outsider looking in, in whatever form that takes. Other ideas could be time travel or jumping dimensions.

I am not interested in reading stories that are all canon or all OCs. I need a human, or some sort of outsider, for the story to be enjoyable enough to read.

Hold up, I distinctly remember you saying that you hate reading stories with humans in it (or writing stories with humans in it?). I forgot when, but you replied to me yourself when I said I love HiEs.

Probably something along the lines of I hate it when Earth is in the fic, or someone turns back into a human.
