Everyone... I don't know what to say.

I initially wrote The Disciplinarians in less than 24 hours as a quick story for a writing group prompt. With the extremely good advice of some prereaders, I restructured it into something that I was pretty satisfied with, even if I had a little feeling in my head that it might be a bit divisive. It was a short little comedy scene that I'd imagined a few times before as a gag, "imagine Principal Celestia having to defend the events of the movies to the superintendent." And of course that Superintendent had to be Neighsay, because what other voice would you want for an irate authority figure than Maurice LaMarche's?

I posted with the expectation of ~200ish views in the first few days, and maybe a score in the 2/3s range with under 30 votes.

And then...

EThe Disciplinarians
Principal Celestia is put on administrative leave and risks being fired after yet another magical disaster on campus. Can she outwit a vindictive superintendent?

I don't know whether it was the hook, or the little bit of trust some people have in me, or just that extremely fitting picture of Principal Celestia. But damn. The Disciplinarians easily blew past every story I've ever written in terms of getting on the featured box (and then the other featured box) and just racking up views and upvotes. It was almost hypnotic to watch. And while there were a few comments to the effect of "Celestia is too mean" (and even those still weren't outright pans), the division I was bracing for never really happened. Some of the feedback I've gotten for this (particularly RubyDubious's review) is some of the best I've ever had and brought me incredible joy to read.

Now that it looks like the story's time on the featured box has come to a close (nearly three days!), I want to thank everyone for making this the little story that could. If you haven't read it yet, I hope you do and I hope you like it. And if you found me because of this fic, welcome. I hope to continue bringing more stuff like this and I look forward to the journey ahead.

Onward!
