Update on Rules stuff. · 2:44pm Jun 18th, 2022
Hello everyone! Hope you all are having a nice day today. I wanted to start by saying just how sorry I am for missing my previous deadline. The last few weeks have been pretty busy for me, and I was aiming to upload chapter 8 right before I left on vacation. As you can see, that didn't happen, but I was able to finish up and get it out, albeit a week later then I intended. I want to promise updates in the future will be more regular, but that would depend on life not throwing any more curveballs my way, something I am not at all convinced of at-the-moment. Regardless, thank you all for your support on chapter 8, and if you want to see more I would encourage you to like the story if you haven't already, as that really fuels my desire to work on it more in my free time.
Secondly, I wanted to say how happy I am to be back in the writers chair and working on Rules again. I had a solid six months of on and off writers block and life stuff distracting me when I didn't have it. Right now I'm feeling focused, so I'm going to make the most of it while its hot and I'm on vacation.
Thirdly, I wanted to address a matter that has come up since I started this series: Gen 5. Basically, for the purpose of this series, Gen 5 will be non-existent. This isn't due to any animosity against Gen 5 as a whole or anything, its simply because when I started this project, information on Gen 5 was scant at best, and so much of what I have outlined goes against the current G5 canon. As such, I will be ignoring it for the purpose of telling my story. Honestly, it shouldn't really come up, but in the event of a future conflict, I just wanted to make my stance on it clear. I don't hate Gen 5, it's just I didn't plan for it when I began.
Lastly, for future story chapters, I am aiming to have two or three chapters ready before I upload, with a second and third update in the days following the first. Not this time, unfortunately, because I was so eager to get chapter 8 out, so chapter 9 should be ready in a few weeks. However, I hope to upload chapters 10, 11, and maybe 12 within a week of each other. No timeline on that right now, but I'll let you know soonish.

Good to have an update, don't feel rushed, slow quality is better than making a hash of stuff!
Hum. I hope that people don't feel obligated to include G5 on theirs stories simply for the fact that it exists. In my opinion there is absolutely no problem in keeping G4 stories and G5 completely separeted.
Better late than rushed
On the topic of my last comment, just as a guess, will there be another chapter this year?
