    I will return to G5

    Hey, guys. Mr. J here.

Just so you're aware, I am planning to return to MLP G5: both watching Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark. Now, I don't remember if I ever told you all about this, but I did inform some of y'all that I've given up hope for G5 because the episodes I watched around that time (two years ago) were so forgettable and boring.

Disney and Transformers · 11:53pm Jun 11th, 2022

Did it ever cross some of your minds in regards to this? Because I’ve been having a scary thought of Disney buying Hasbro and its franchises, Transformers being one of them.

Considering what they did to Star Wars (namely the accursed Sequel Trilogy), I am hoping they won’t lay their covetous hands on my most favorite franchise of all time. I can forgive what Michael Bay did to Transformers (at least he made it more popular than ever), but Disney is no better—if not worse in my opinion. I don’t want any dumb political agenda and woke propaganda to taint the franchise, which is still recovering from the infamous blight of Bay’s fifth TF movie.

Or perhaps I’m just paranoid for literally nothing.

No, your right to be horrified

I highly doubt that Disney is ever going to buy the Transformers series.

For one, they seem incredibly content with all they’ve gained so far, and another...Hasbro is an equally powerful company that can constantly make money in more ways than one, and they’ve already been ruining their own franchises for years thanks to incorporating “woke propaganda” and “dumb political agendas”.

The only companies whom I believe would even be remotely interested in trying to get their greedy hands on Hasbro is Paramount and Amazon.

The key word is “seem”. You may never know until they touch another pie with a dirty finger.

What other franchises are you referring to, may I ask?

You do realize Paramount distributed Bay’s Transformers films, right? It may not be the same as owning a franchise, but they still took part in them nonetheless.

“My Little Pony”, “G.I. Joe”, “Littlest Pet Shop”, and “Pound Puppies”.

And yes, I’m aware that Paramount has been distributing films and shows based on Transformers. Whether you know this is something I don’t remember, but Paramount also happens to own the film and television rights to Transformers, and they’ve shown on more than one occasion that they too are money-greedy,

Heck, Paramount has actually acquired the rights to creating movies and shows based on “Garfield” by buying the author’s company, and they’ve recently been trying to buy the rights for creating content based on “Alvin and the Chipmunks” and “The Smurfs”.

Well, they definitely ruined MLP thanks to G5. People say that it’s great, but I honestly consider it all-things mediocre. Basically, it represents everything people say about the Star Wars sequel trilogy and “Legend of Korra”.

........What?? How exactly? Give examples.

Forgettable and mediocre characters, questionable continuity, mediocre storytelling and direction, and contradictory and inconsistent elements.

Forgettable and mediocre characters

That's understandable although a matter of opinion.

questionable continuity

How so?

mediocre storytelling and direction

Again, a matter of opinion.

contradictory and inconsistent elements

Again, how so? What elements? That just repeats your second complaint.

How so?

There are plenty of reasons for why I’ve questioned how G5 was a continuation of G4.

For one thing, with the ponies being divided again and their overall prejudice and distrust of each other being incredibly well-known, where were the windigoes in the midst of it all? Why weren’t they feeding off of the ponies’ negative emotions and burying them in snow?

With magic being gone, wouldn’t Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow have somehow gotten out of their petrified states and made a revenge strike when that happened?

On top of this, the overall visualizations and designs of the ponies and the landscapes was far from faithful. I mean, I can’t be the only who took note of that, right?

The Windigoes are ancient magic as Tirek said. They literally thrive and are comprised of magic, remember? No magic, no Windigoes. It’s as simple as that. So no, it is not a plot hole or inconsistency. They can’t devour negative emotions with magic to sustain their entire existence.

Also, the designs of the ponies change from generation to generation; from one iteration to the next. That’s how it’s always been since G1.

It was different with the other MLP series. Neither of them were made or intended to be a direct continuation of each other. G5 on the other hand…for a series that’s supposed to be a direct continuation of G4, the differences in visualization honestly make the very idea of it being one laughable. If they really wanted to do that, then they should’ve been more faithful to G4’s style, not completely change it up to where there are unexplainable within-world reasons for why.

Also, I’m pretty sure that the windigoes would still feed off of Equestria even when the ponies don’t have magic. Despite being made up of magic, it’s been shown that windigoes are also living creatures. Just like the Timberwolves are despite being made up of magic and sticks.
