About my fanfic illustrations going forward · 6:02am May 30th, 2022
First of all, thanks to everyone who left comments on "Let My Ponies Go!" I had a blast writing that story and I'm already getting really hyped up writing the first chapter of "Tirek Vs Scorpan". This one is going to be so epic, I don't think you guys can handle it!
Now as you might have noticed, there are no illustrations up for the final chapter of LMPG yet because I was almost done with the chapter and didn't think I should wait any longer till the art is finished so I uploaded it without art, but I will finish it later. No one seems to be bothered by the fact that it has no illustrations in it right now which brings me to my next point.
I hate to say it, but I've been holding myself back quite a lot with my writing all because of how I make art to insert into the chapters on FIMfic. I can get quite a bit of writing done in a short amount of time if I really put my mind to it, but the art side of things is a different story. Despite how good of an artist I might be, it's harder to do art when I'm too tired or just not in the mood and therefore I put it off over time. I can write pretty well and fast under pressure and it doesn't take as much physical work and time. Even more worrisome is the fact that my art has been taking up a lot of RAM on my computer and I'm running out. I'm not saying I won't draw anymore art for Flurry Heart's Story, but I think it's time to stop making the art for the chapters. I've been developing poor habits of putting off uploading a chapter when it's still ready all because the art isn't done and I don't want that to be a problem going forward. Not to mention, making that art is overlapping my commission art on my to-do list, which should be top priority.
Here's the deal: I will upload the chapters as soon as they have been proofread and are ready to publish. I will not make art for them at the time of upload, but I might post the art later on if I can get some done. I still have really good ideas for pictures for these stories, and it doesn't seem right to not draw them, but I want to be able to get these stories pumped out faster, at least at a rate of every week or so. When I started with "Elements Assemble", I was doing it at this rate, it only became an issue when I had to also write a song, and there's a story coming up that will have several songs, so that's going to be a difficult one. I have been getting some people pestering me about when the next chapter is coming or if I will even continue the series after I have finished one story, so hopefully I can break the habit of waiting too long as it is probably causing some followers to lose interest.
So just to reiterate, the series will continue, but I'm not going to prioritize making the art to serve as illustrations in each chapter although I will still make art for it, especially for the cover/thumbnail. I doubt this will change most reader's opinions about the story as they are probably very used to reading stories without visuals on here. To anyone who will be disappointed in this change, believe me, I wish I could keep doing the illustrations, but it's just too much work and I don't want to let it affect my output.
One last thing: While the next episode of FHS will be "Tirek Vs Scorpan", the next story uploaded will actually be a short story (with chapters I may update over time) titled "My Little Sister is a Dragon". It will document the backstory for my OCs Nightwatch and Buttercream who will have important roles to play later on in Flurry Heart's Story.
It's okay! I understand why you need to stop! And I can't wait to see "My Little Sister is a Dragon," it sounds like it's going to be cool!

No worries Alex, it can be a bit hard doing art for a story while doing the chapter as well. I'm impressed you were able to keep up the pace for so long.
Can't wait to read about your dragon OC's story, she is a fun character!
No problem take your time on your stories but I can't wait to see how they turn out and can't wait to see your o c character dragon
I understand your decision. Having art in your stories was pretty fun and unique, but it isn't mandatory to make them enjoyable, and I understand how making art a priority can become a hassle and hold the whole story back.
It was fun while it lasted, but you got to do whatever you are most comfortable with. If you think stopping illustrations will help you make the series faster then I see it as a win, even if they were fun to have. Though, if you ever have the time to make the odd illustration or two for the series, maybe after a story has been finished or something, that might be nice.

Yeah, that's what I plan on doing. I might make some art for it later, but I'd rather wait till after it is done.
It’s ok we understand and you can always add the illustrations after you finish the story

I might do that, but I might put in like just one or two pics per chapter. it was overkill doing 6-8 pics like I did with Chapter 7 of "Dream of Alicornication" or Chapter 5 of "Let My Ponies Go"

Yeah that makes sense. You could also do two pictures for when you post the chapter and than add more later, but that’s just me
At least now the chapters will come faster.
