    I will return to G5

    Hey, guys. Mr. J here.

Just so you're aware, I am planning to return to MLP G5: both watching Tell Your Tale and Make Your Mark. Now, I don't remember if I ever told you all about this, but I did inform some of y'all that I've given up hope for G5 because the episodes I watched around that time (two years ago) were so forgettable and boring.

Grading Scale:

A (fantastic episode)
A- (an excellent episode with at least one flaw)
B+ (a great episode with a couple of flaws)
B (a good episode which still could have been better)
B- (a good episode with numerous flaws but still rewatchable)

C (eh... it’s not terrible but not good either)
C- (it’s not worth rewatching although it does have good elements)
D+ (a bad episode with a few good things in it)
D (a really bad episode with wasted potential)
D- (a terrible episode with badly written characters and butchered moral)
F (horrible and unwatchable)

Greetings, everyone! This is Mr. J back with more The Owl House content! This afternoon, I will be reviewing the final episode of season 2 entitled: “King’s Tide”. This was a very...anxiety-inducing episode to be completely honest. There were some things that I was more worried about before watching this until watching it made me feel a little relieved albeit not entirely. While I wouldn’t say it was a flawless season finale, it was definitely worth the wait and honestly exceeded my expectations.

This is the episode where the Day of Unity finally begins. The battle between Luz and Belos commences with the lives of everyone in the Boiling Isles hanging in the balance.

If there were some parts that I didn’t enjoy in this finale, it would be only two things in particular. First off, I was kinda disappointed Hunter didn’t have much to do in the episode and was taken the backseat to let other characters get more action for the plot. I say this because Hunter is my favorite character in this show (it used to be Belos until I watched “Hollow Mind”. Not gonna explain further than that). So to see Hunter be reduced to a guy who only does teleportation every now and then without using his other magical abilities was really annoying.

Secondly, there was a line from Kikimora that sort of seemed questionable to me. This whole time, she eavesdropped on the conversations between Belos and The Collector and knew who the latter was. If that was the case, then how come she didn’t say anything to the Coven Heads in secrecy about what she heard? That means she must’ve known about the draining spell which should have given her some red flags about Belos. Plus, there was no hint or any sign that she was listening in the background, so this revelation felt like it wanted to pull a redemption arch for Kikimora despite the fact that it feels somewhat rushed. Nonetheless, it was cool seeing her finally do something useful.

My favorite moments in the episode are the scenes with The Collector. Thank God he didn’t possess Luz or King and was actually his own person since we already have enough Disney villains possessing children (Bipper and Darcy); frankly, that concept got old pretty quickly which made the revelation of him having his own physical form really refreshing. The way they easily destroyed Belos and moved the moon with his finger with minimal effort was both astounding and amazing. It shows how overly powerful he is and how dangerous he actually is even as a kid. A freaking KID! Although I think he is a misguided child and isn’t as evil as Bill Cipher, he’s still a mischievous little trouble maker who only wants to play games. I can’t wait to see more of him in the season 3 specials.

It was really sad to see some people realize they were used by Belos and finally come to their senses that he is a deceitful man (such as Kiki, Terra, and Collector). But at the same time, it was extremely satisfying to see him get obliterated by The Collector. But it’s not over yet as a part of his remains went with the kids to the human realm.

Lastly, the ending gave off “True Colors” vibes which was not that heartbreaking to me honestly. It was cool seeing the Amphibia Easter Egg (which even more indicates that they both share the same universe), and I am actually happy that Luz gets to see her mom again...with friends. Unlike the Plantaar family unfortunately, the Hexside squad will have much less time on Earth due to the season getting shortened and things will have to be done quickly. So I’m hoping it will all pay off well.

This gets a B+! Despite some issues, I really enjoyed this finale and the season as a whole. I can’t believe this show is almost over, and it’s been two weeks since Amphibia ended. Welp, here’s the last hiatus until we get the shortened season for The Owl House.

Peace.

One best way to describe the Season 2 finale for of The Owl House from yours truly: Quite a rollercoaster ride. :)

And man.... here's hoping that, even with the shortened Season 3, by of course the end of the show..... Lumity is able to stay strong to the very end. <3

Do you think Jacob Hopkins will be the main villain in one of the specials?

No, that fucker should be left alone. I would be pissed if he turns out to be one.

It is because he is a witch/myth hunter jerk?

5660865
Because he’s irritating as hell.
