A question, for you all. · 4:34am May 24th, 2022
So... I've noticed a few things lately. Things like...
Starbound Flight received a new chapter on schedule last week, and another one this week- but it's been about nine hours since the latter and neither has any comments at all.
Accidental Invasion regularly gets a few comments per chapter... But cancelling The Boy who Disappeared got at least five times as many of those as any of the last five AI chapters- and I need to put AI down for a while to keep it from going the Way of the Dodo like its predecessors. Fortunately, there's a fair few chapters in the buffer, so you probably won't notice it.
And... my muse really hasn't considered TF lately. I've thought about it, but at this rate, I expect it's never going to reach such a state that I'm willing to even announce it, let alone publish it. That usually happens around 2-3 chapters written, since I got tired of writing & publishing single chapters only for the story to crash and never get worked on past that because it had no plot, but it currently stands at 0 words... definitely not publishable.
As a result of that, I've been getting discouraged... very discouraged.
So... What do you want? Aside from a rewrite of TBwD, that's coming as soon as I have a proper plot idea for it... which, let's face it, is unlikely to happen.
It's a Monday.
That, and the fandom is coming to a lull. There's less people than their used to be, even a year ago.

Well yes, but that hasn't stopped it before... and the avalanche of comments on TBwD's cancellation means the reduction I'm seeing is not only because the fandom is smaller, but because whatever I'm writing anymore evidently isn't as attractive.
I'm more likely to comment if I don't like something, sorry :)
We're sorry!!!
Especially me, um, see, I only read Accidental Invasion, but it's not cause I don't think the other stories are good, they're just not as interesting to me. It's not your writing or anything, I just have specific tastes when it comes to reading

No problem. It just gets a little bit... well... when nobody comments. If that wasn't happening over on Starbound Flight, AI's mere 5-6 comments per chapter wouldn't have been enough to get me down, even though it's way less than the 15-20 it used to enjoy. Then of course, I know what happened: I allowed myself to get rushed, and lost a large chunk of the readership to poor-quality writing between chapters 35 & 55. There's really no fixing that, though.

Hmm... This raises the question of if you'll like TBwD's rewrite... which is turning out to be kinda sorta between TBwD and AI. Whelp, I guess we'll find out when I release it!

I'll definitely check it out! We'll have to see. But you won't be losing a follower anyway
