To everyone who has viewed my latest story, Asriel Dreemurr, Prince of the Night, I want to thank you. For each of you who has given it a thumbs up or added it to one of your bookshelves, you have my sincere appreciation. To those adding me to their list of folks they're following, I am flattered and a bit flustered hehe.
And especially to those of you who have commented, my deep gratitude and thanks must be given. While I had every intention (and still do) of continuing the story even without such a show of approval and interest, I feel invigorated and even more excited about working on this story!
Feedback in all these forms is what I have often liked to call mana from heaven, and you are all giving it in spades right now.
I was originally uncertain about the idea, having initially thought of going with swapping Asriel out for Spike when Twilight was a filly. Or to have Flowey arrive shortly before the beginning of the series and to become a second assistant to Twilight (with thoughts of Asriel possibly being restored later) but I couldn't quite get those ideas to work out in my head. This one honestly came out of the realization that out of the characters early on, Luna shared a feeling of regret for past actions and mistakes, just as Asriel did, and I decided to run with it, and am I glad I did.
Unlike with past stories I've attempted, I wanted to be a bit more committed. I wanted to get past my usual trend of one or two chapters before an idea fizzled out. I also didn't want to just put the story up and add the chapters I'd written in over time, instead giving the story a solid footing to work with. There was a part of me that was a bit nervous doing so, not sure if it was the best idea. And I also, unlike many other stories, got so excited about the idea that I wanted to ensure I had something visual wise for it, a cover to do it justice.
A big thanks by the way to CyaneWorks over on FA for drawing the cover, it turned out so well~! I might have to seek to get some more art for the story commissioned in the future as a matter of fact~!
Anyways, when I had finished the third chapter and added it and was preparing to hit submit, honestly, I was expecting it to not get much attention, and had planned to wait a few days before getting to work on Chapter 4, spend a bit of time relaxing and try to actually read some other stories for a change.
Instead, I finished reading a chapter for someone else's story here only to see my alerts lighting up, and finding the story featured as well, and its only continued to grow since then. And each new favorite, thumbs up, follow, and comment has me excited. So much so that I've already started chapter 4! (I'll still work on it as I feel up to doing so, experience has taught me that really forcing myself to write doesn't normally produce good results) Even though I'd told myself I should take a day or three at least to rest, I wanted to at least get a page written out so I have something to work on here and there over the weekend.
I thank all of you for giving me this extra motivation and inspiration and drive to continue this story. I don't particularly have too much of an endgoal in mind, as I've found sometimes that going too far in an outline can often sap some of my motivation and inspiration, but I have a sort of general minimum goal of at least bringing things as far as Season 4's beginning. I sadly cannot say if there's going to be any kind of update schedule, as those have never wound up working for me anyways, but I have no intention of dropping this story.
Anyways, as soon as chapter 4 is ready, I'll go ahead and put it up~ So folks won't have to wait for me to finish sets of chapters for future updates~!
