R.I.P. Gilbert Gottfried · 9:34pm Apr 12th, 2022
An unexpected development has just occurred. Comedian and voice actor Gilbert Gottfried, apparently having been suffering from a long illness, died today at the age of 67.
A veteran of Saturday Night Live, Gilbert started his work as a comedian in the 80's and slowly rose to prominence as the decade wore on. Yet it was his performance as Iago the parrot in Disney's Aladdin which brought him national reconnection. Unlike Robin Williams, Gilbert was able to reprise the role of Iago for both sequels as well as the television series and for many related Disney animations.
Needless to say, Gilbert's death hits hard. But at least he's up there with Robbin Williams now.
Oh no đ˘ r.i.p to him
Indeed, I'm deeply saddened by his passing today.
I've been internally crying for over an hour. Externally, I actually put on an old episode of Cyberchase. It's better to laugh than to cry.
In loving memory:
I guess the 2020s is becoming the decade of celebrity deaths.
When I often made my reviewing plans, I kept creating an analysis on an animated film called âAnimal Crackersâ on standby. After I found out about Gilbert Gottfriedâs passing, though, I decided that I would no longer waste any time getting around to see the film and review it as a dedication to Gottfried, the reason being that he starred in the movie as Mario Zucchini.
We have lost yet another legend today.
He will forever be missed and cherished.

God, so sad. I remember hearing him often on the show "Cyberchase" as Digit, the Cybird.
He and Robin Williams were part of the reason Aladdin is my favorite Disney movie and one of my favorite Disney franchises.

I always watched that show when I came home from school. His character Digit and Hacker (Christopher Lloyd) were my two favorite characters in the show.
My older brother and I met Gilbert at a comedy show back in 2019 where he autographed movies we own starring him (my VHS copy of The Return of Jafar and my brother's Problem Child Tantrum Pack DVD box set), as well as took a picture with each of us.
He was one of the kind đĽ
Rest In Peace. I enjoyed his many roles, especially in Cyberchase when I was a kid.
