    One of those moments...

...where I really wish it wasn't 3 AM.

Have to save the last one for tomorrow after work, then it's time to 100% Freedom Planet 2, something I really didn't think I'd pull off.

That was a way to kill an evening.

It also gave me a very, very good idea of what stages I will never, ever get a Rainbow S in.

    I completely underestimated today's eclipse.

I have witnessed two partial eclipses in my lifetime, so I wasn't quite sure how a "total eclipse" would be noticeably better.

Holy shit, how wrong I was.

Luckily, I reside well within the path of totality, so I didn't have to travel at all.

    And just... Wow.

Actually managed to do that in one evening.

And I only had to stay up until 1:30 in the morning.

Last fight was the longest and most intense battle in the game, bar none. Actually had to resort to health potions because I ran out of medicinal herbs.

Quick Thoughts: Horizon Forbidden West (Spoiler-free) · 12:50am Apr 5th, 2022

Finally finished up Horizon Forbidden West this evening.

I had a feeling Guerilla was setting this up to be a trilogy, and they have, so far, done a phenomenal job of it. Looking forward to what DLC and a third game brings. Aside from a single cutscene where it feels like developers truly held back to maintain their Teen-rating, the main story hit all of the right beats, and the side content is some of the best I have ever played in any open world title, ever. I do feel like the base game could have done with 10 more levels, as I spent the final 12 hours of play at max level, and finishing up side content became much less of a priority once I hit 50.

What I am not, looking forward to, however, is the harder difficulties. There were times where it felt like Aloy got knocked over by a stiff breeze, and other times she was rag-dolled across the battlefield, with barely a moment to react. Every time she takes entirely too long to get back on her feet. I don't believe I'll be attempting a harder difficulty, and to be fair, hats off to Guerilla for letting players fine tune their difficulty settings to exactly what they like.

Dodge was unfairly neutered from the last game, along with melee attacks.

And I really don't know why single player experiences like this receive balance passes, as Legendary weapons got a considerable nerf in patch 1.09, just in time for me to tackle the endgame, going into the final fights with weapons that felt decidedly more toothless than they did a few days ago.

All in all, I will absolutely replay this on PC or PS5, depending on if it releases on PC before I get a PS5.

Yeah it’s a great game. Really curious about how the confrontation with Nemesis will play out.

Please spoiler that.

Thanks. And yeah, it was a shame we never really got a look at what Faro had turned into.

Well as I’ve seen other people point out, anything they showed probably wouldn’t be as horrifying as what we can imagine.

Likely something out of Last of Us / Resident Evil.

Latest patch apparently changed legendary weapons again

That's the one I was talking about, unless there's been another one in the past 48 hours.
