I thought about the original heads of Twin Spruce Orphanage, Ted and Lacey Marks having died from dragonpox a year before Eric’s arrival in Equestria and Maxim Horvath (from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) taking over the orphanage and Eric escaping from his abuse and cruelty.
