the archive.org page from august of 2011 is very broken in every way:

the site was missing a stylesheet and multiple icons, and had a commented-out banner code that left a big empty box up top. the version on archive.org refers to a banner with a magical amulet on it, but the image is nowhere to be found. however, a different banner featuring trixie was present, so I substituted that in instead since that was hiding in the archive.
yes, fimfiction.net was originally fimfiction.com! by august, fimfiction.net had already been launched, but was still featuring the same design as fimfiction.com. In effect, the two sites were still one and the same. However, by October, fimfiction.net had introduced the then-new "Fimfiction 2.0" style, which brought about an early version of the featured stories box and early story cards. Fimfiction.com by then was no more, and instead redirected to Fimfiction.net instead.
for the stylesheet and icons, I was surprisingly able to find them after a little bit of further digging. with that in hand, I was able to figure out at the very least what the first public beta of the site looked like, and from there it was a matter of tracking down various icons and pictures and throwing it all together!

yup, that's the 2.0 design! lasted up until I think 2013 before 3.0, and then a sort of 3.5 version rolled around a little later that removed the banners :P
Gosh, this website's changed a lot. I don't think I even knew what MLP was at this point, let alone that this entire fan community existed...

Same I knew about it in 2015 but didn't like it until I watched later Episodes before I fully watched it it was at I think Season 7 or 8 that I liked it

This is a link to a gallery I compiled of all the banner sources that still exist on Derpi. Some of the artists have tried to scrub their work from the internet, but I managed to track down and most, if not all of the deleted sources now exist on my SSD.
Maybe I'll get around to uploading them to Twibooru, due to their lack of a DNP, so I can just have them all in one place.
