I am hearing so many good things about this damn game that I may break and finally try Elden Ring.
I have to be absolutely sure that the PC issues have been resolved, though.

The performance can be a bit odd sometimes once and a while I'll get a massive hitch but then it recovers like nothing happened. The frame rate is at 55-60 90% of the time. Most frame rate issues have have run into are around the zone load areas where it will stumble for a few seconds then pick right back up. Crashing is almost non existent I have crashed 5 times in 110 hours and 3 of those are coop failures.
If you have never played a souls game before it's hard as fuck but it will just keep sucking you back in.

The difference is that it's not linear. A boss is kicking your ass, you go get a better weapon or level up more, right?

That for the most part is true early-mid game but there is still a skill element involved you have to learn each boss and its moves and its gimmicks if there are any. Keep in mind you are the fleshiest meat bag on the field at all times.

Yup, luckily some of the changes give you more variety in combat
I never really got into the SoulsBorne series, my head can only take so much wall...
However, I've been watching some let's plays of Elden Ring and it looks like it may be more to my liking than the others. If I get it, I'll be grabbing it for my Playstation.
But I really hope that FromSoftware brings out a new Armored Core game!
