I seem to remember reading somewhere that 'state of the author' is a great thing to do every once in a while.
Whelp.
I actually just received an ultimatum. Make a sizable payment by next week... or lose my car and with it my freedom. I'll be working almost constantly, with no computer access, in order to make that payment. If you want to help me out, you can make or increase a pledge on my Patreon and remove or reduce it again right away- since I have enabled 'pay up front', that'll function as a one-time payment.
This won't affect most of you out in public. Technically, Starbound Flight has a chapter ready, but I haven't had the energy to even publish it to patrons- and unless I post it to them within the next few hours, it's going to miss its scheduled update again. I won't be able to work on writing for the duration, but I will be able to log on to make comments or publish Accidental Invasion chapter 60, which will go up on schedule even without my help to patrons. After this torturous adventure, I will still be working hard, but should have more time. Depending on how much time I have available, I may be unable to maintain the regular update schedule, and start pausing my Patreon payment schedules; I can't let it charge for benefits they're not getting. But even if that does happen, I will still be able to write periodically- and besides, Phase 2 will only last a couple of months or so, and I already know Phase 3 will leave me with extended free time again, before- after a fair few months of that- Phase 4 will improve free time even more. The more I get on Patreon, the sooner each phase can be brought to a close. They're all financial thresholds.
It's okay! We can wait, you do what you need to to pay for the car!
We all have or will have to go through the same thing. We will be here. I would say take your time, but in this case time for boo poo triple double overtime. Yes it will suck...
