Hey hey, it’s the first of March! And it was a pretty nice day, too, so that’s a bonus.

In case y’all were wondering how February went, well . . . at the shop we nearly doubled our average February numbers, and that was with only two people back in the shop. There was a lot of overtime. I also got to cover some extra shifts at my other job, which added to the fun.

I honestly can’t say that March will be better. We’ll see how it goes. At least it will be warmer (I hope), and I won’t have to start my day digging out cars buried in snowdrifts.

A few blogs back, I mentioned Clarksville Rd. having signs saying “Road Settled,” but I couldn’t find any images of those signs. So just for you, when I was out in that area some weekends back, I took a little detour off the main roads and:

That very same weekend, I happened to be in Owosso with one of the group home residents. He likes building various kinds of models, and they’ve got a shop that sells all sorts of plastic models. Since we were there, I thought I’d swing by the Great Lakes Central engine facility and see if anything interesting was going on. There wasn’t, but I did see a Klemme Coop car in the yard. Remember how I mentioned those in Destination Unknown?

Anyway, that’s all for now. Have a cute Roseluck as an outro picture

I just hope Sweetsong doesn't end up on a train to Clarksville. Especially not the last train there. Because that won't put her anywhere near the Pacific.

Clarksville and trains in the same blog post. It's low-hanging fruit, really...

Weird thing about Settled Roads, is that one doesnt seem to have any houses or shops on it, and the way it throws you about suggests Id hate to see an angry road?:trixieshiftright:

The sea defence coast road at Southport in the UK is a good example of why its not a great idea to try building on sand. Its like trying to drive over waves.:pinkiesick:

Between the pandemic and winter ennui, my waist has gained about 2 inches over the last 2 years, and I just had to renew my driver's license and officially declare gaining a stone or two.
With pandemic restrictions at gyms easing, I'm going to be spending Lent fasting and burning calories for our lord.

Man you sound like you have been busy. I hope you have taken time for yourself so you don’t burn out.

As it happens, there is a Clarksville, California which is only 100 miles from the Pacific. That having been said, from Seattle she’s only 92 miles away from the Pacific.

That is in fact why I went through Clarksville the first time. With the song playing in my head, no less.

In this context, they don’t mean ‘settled’ like ‘inhabited,’ but that it’s not flat anymore since it was built on a swamp with a poor foundation.

There’s a road on Assateague Island that was built on sand and some of it still there. As in you can see chunks of asphalt scattered on the dunes and say, ‘yeah, that was a road.’

I’ve managed to dodge that bullet, at least. But then my jobs got more busy rather than less, so. . .

Good luck! Also, adorable Luna pic

I had two days off in February, so that’s something.

Good luck!

And thanks for the blog post and contents. :)
