Why I hate Scootaloo's Parents. · 7:25pm Feb 24th, 2022
I decided to drop my thoughts on this just now on a random whim, so let me talk about Scootaloo's parents and why I hate them.
First off, until season 9 we never see or hear anything about them, EVER. It is not until that season we even hear word one about them, leaving many including myself at the time to think she had no family at all. We then find out she was living with her Aunts who had been caring for her for many many years, something that make me quite glad she has at least some family.
Secondly when that finally DO decide to show up, they bust into a classroom with all sorts of animals interrupting a class and after a bit of an introduction, they fire off the bullshittyest excuse of all time of why they were not around "It's a job only we can do" This excuse as I said to me,, is utter bullshit as Flutttershy does pretty much the SAME thing and just by TALKING to the animals and such. Case in point being Dragonshy, or the Manticore in the Everfree!
Thirdly after being gone for Luna knows how long from Scootaloos life they just expected to pop in and take her away from everything she's ever known. Her family, friends, school, her HOME! All because her so called parents suddenly decided they were ready to be parents! Dimand Tiara's mom might be a huge bitch but at least she WAS in HER daughters life
Ultimately it comes down to a selfish pair of ponies choosing a supposed job "Only they could do" and a job "They SHOULD have done" When they first found out they were expecting, they could have easily found ponies to train to take their places but instead they opted not to, after all why give up the thrill they enjoy so much over the thrill of being a parent for 16+ years
season 9 in general is crap
the CMC where written like it was season 1 again and they where just little kids
when they run a bussiness now several episodes where dedicated to showing they are not kids anymore
but no suddenly they cant take a trip alone they have no idea how to plan that (looks at sweetie bells maticulus planning in previosu season)
rainbow dash and applejack are suddenly rivals again even thoe they have barely spoken since season 1
and dont get me started on the fianl

I personally enjoyed S9 a LOT. I esp loved Cozy Glow, Chrysalis and Tirek as the baddies, they made a great team
