A random little extra (non-pony) story.

These last few weeks I've been taking part in this community outreach program. It's basically a online meeting once a week where people talk and share information on all kinds of things, like where to find help if you need it, and ways to influence in society and where to find things to do, stuff like that. Part of these meetings are easy little "homework" assignments, usually something like

I'm writing a new, very fluffy, Fluttercord fic.

In case you are interested, I had the inspiration to write a new Fluttercord fic. It's not clop, just a very homey, cozy kind of story. This time of year, when it gets cold and dark, I feel more like doing housework and cooking and bathing and burning candles, all these things that make you fell comforted at home. So inspired by that feeling, I'm writing a story that I hope people will enjoy.

Hi. Never done this, but I felt I should.

    Hi.

This is the first time I've written in a personal blog on this site. I usually communicate through DMs or by creating or commenting on forum posts on different groups.

But this time I just wanted to communicate something personal, and inform people who might expect updates or artwork or something from me, and wondering why I'm not producing anything.

A random little extra (non-pony) story. · 6:14pm Feb 18th, 2022

These last few weeks I've been taking part in this community outreach program. It's basically a online meeting once a week where people talk and share information on all kinds of things, like where to find help if you need it, and ways to influence in society and where to find things to do, stuff like that. Part of these meetings are easy little "homework" assignments, usually something like taking an online personality test or something. The last one was "share your stories or thoughts on snow in the chat." And most people answered something like "I loved skiing as a kid," or "I dislocated my knee when I slipped on ice so now I hate winter," and things of that nature.

I, however, thought that "You want a story? I'll give you a story." So I wrote the following.

The Little Snowflake

One day, high, high in the skies, a snowflake was born. Exactly when or how, even the little snowflake didn't know. One moment there were only the smallest droplets of water, cold and wind, and the next moment the little flake found itself dancing with its millions and millions of siblings.

"What a day to exist!" thought the little snowflake, "How beautiful are the skies, how wild and free is the wind, what a joy it is to have fun with my friends! I am such a lucky flake..."

This is when the little snowflake looked toward the ground for the first time. There, far beneath them, was a town. And on a street in the town, walked a little girl wearing a pink knitted hat. But she was walking slowly, head down, the pink bauble of her hat swaying morosely in time with her heavy footfalls.

"Oh dear me! Why does she look so unhappy? Can't she see how beautiful the world is, what a delight it is to live today?" The flake looked around, at the numerous friends surrounding it, and though "Then again, I have an endless amount of playmates, and the poor girl is all alone down there on the ground!"

This thought made the little flake so very, very sad. "I can't let her be lonely! If no-one else will do it, I shall be her friend!" thought the flake, and with a great leap it launched itself from its cloud. When the other flakes saw this, they cheered and jumped after it, eager to join this new game.

The little snowflake twirled and tumbled through the air, until it landed on the little girl's nose. For a tiny moment, it smiled at her, and then it melted, leaving the slightest moisture, like a gentle kiss.

The girl blinked in surprise. Slowly, she lifted her eyes to the heavens. Great, white flecks of snow were silently pouring down on the gray town. And her round face split into a smile, and she couldn't help but dance and jump with the flurry!

With a new spring in her step, she hurried home with an excited smile on her lips. After all, it is hard to stay in a bad mood when you know you get to go tobogganing the next day!
