This has been a really interesting journey of rediscovery tbh. This entire site was such a huge part of my life all those years ago, some of it feels like it was just yesterday.
I watched the G5 movie just recently. I liked it! It's interesting that it takes place so far in the future that the Main 6 are basically myths and legends. I'm curious about how the split between all the pony races occurred, but maybe I missed that in the later seasons of G4.
Next chapter of Renegades is almost done. I'm really happy with Spade's character, it feels organic to write it. I see a lot of myself in Con especially, and Pro is just a fun character to write. Let me know what yall think, and leave a like/comment! Recommend it to your friends ;D
There is a subplot in Season 9 (the final season) where its main villains try to turn all the pony races against each other, but the Mane Six undo their efforts. The series finale ends with everything pretty hunky dory, so whatever split everypony apart by A New Generation happened completely offscreen sometime between the two. "The dissent sewed by the villains continued to fester beneath the surface" is a pretty popular fan explanation right now, but only time will tell if that's what G5 goes with.

I hope you'll like the later episodes. I'm very, very biased in their favor (I dove into the fandom in earnest between Seasons 8 and 9), but there are some folks who aren't as high on the show's twilight years — which is true about almost any show, of course, but I'm sorry to say it probably bears repeating here. Again, I personally think those seasons are pretty great overall, so you should be fine too; just be prepared on the off chance your expectations aren't met.
