I really hope that Pipp gets the same sort of character development that Rarity did. When I first started watching FiM in 2011, I was convinced that I would hate Rarity. I'm so glad that I was wrong. Rarity took femininity and shook it up in ways I've never seen in kids TV. She has all the traits of a whiny, weak, ineffectual diva, and yet she's capable of amazing guile, wit, ingenuity, creativity and, of course, generosity. And a good thrashing, if you really piss her off. 🎵She's a laaaaaady!🎵
One of my favorite aspects of her character is that she is never cruel about her opinions on others' fashion or looks. She goes out of her way to highlight the beauty in everyone, which is so incredibly commendable. She may have an overly dramatic sense when confronted by a fashion travesty, but she never fails to either offer aid, or fix it herself.
Pipp comes off as shallow and somewhat self-centered, but she also shows that she is very friendly, enthusiastic and can be accepting of others. A big part of this is that I feel like the writers didn't have enough time to delve deeper into her character within the time constraints of the movie. I really hope that they flesh out her positive attributes in ways that surprise me, like the FiM writers did with Rarity.
