    The Curse of Creativity

I want to write a story.

My last story was uploaded in January. It was a gift exchange over QnS. I’ve started on many stories since then, I haven’t finished a single one besides the ones I’ve written for QnS. That’s all you’ll be getting in the foreseeable future, probably.

    Hey I’m Here

It’s really been 2 months since I made a blogpost. This shit feels unprecedented and wrong somehow. Many things have happened since I got on HRT, but my work has been sucking my life out of me recently. They’ve scheduled me for 6-day weeks and most of the time I’m too tired to do anything (but I’ve told a manager so fingers crossed, and even if that doesn’t work out I still have my own plans

    Important News

So, I really don’t know how much I’m going to say in this blog post but my life is on the up-and-up atm and I wanted to share it. Not much has happened but what has happened makes me excited just thinking about it.

    Behind the Story: SHY.

I’ve been caught in a dreg of OC stories lately (and more to come considering I just experienced something it would be remiss to not write a Raining-Verse story about it). A lot of them have been good OC stories, but nobody reads OC stories.

So here’s some good old-fashioned Rarishy (kinda).

    Genuinely Curious

So, I've been wondering something recently. Genuinely curious about this. I had a minor run where I was fairly popular on this site, and while that's behind me now, I'm wondering what outsiders thought.

Behind the Story: The North Star · 4:09am Jan 14th, 2022

This story’s an interesting one.

So, I declared that I was going to release a story every month, and while I have another story hopefully coming sometime when I figure out how the concept’s going to flow, I didn’t want to screw that up almost immediately.

So, ever since 2-3 weeks ago, I’ve been starting to brainstorm possible ideas for my story this month. I had the main idea of the eventual Raining. sequel (currently unnamed), which was revolving around never wanting to grow up, I had an idea about the beauty of the night sky, and I had a very cliché idea about two lovers who are far apart and are eventually pulled back together.

That last one seemed like the one I could get the most meat out of, so after I thought of it late at night, I decided to keep that in mind.

Now, what I mentioned wasn’t the full idea, I had a bigger idea, but when I woke up the next morning I realized that I had forgotten half of it (and it still hasn’t come back to me). There was no reason for the lovers to come back together, and that was a problem.

So, I had to dive in and do some retooling. The lovers became siblings, they were set to meet together again after not having seen each other for 5 years. But again, with that idea, I still felt like it wasn’t the full picture.

So, what started out as three separate ideas all melted together into one big idea, and that idea was enough to start forming a story around.

I decided to name everything after stars because I thought it was cool and fit with the whole ‘night sky’ theme. Almach was planned to be trans, but I feel like my stories are starting to have trans characters as clichés, so he ended up just gay.

After that, the rest of the plot came into place, and it’s a pretty clear plot, in fact, the fact that The North Star has a plot already makes it an outlier among my stories. However, there were some suspense of disbelief issues that the plot had written in, yes, the minor paid for the house… somehow.

However, I did mention that I wrote that story as much for myself as the 25 consistent people who read my FiMFiction stories (who aren’t my friends, which is why I kept it all in, and I thought that Tirek’s rampage having a negative effect on the lives of Ponyvillians was cool, so that might be written soon.

Now, I mainly wrote this story because I’m terrified of growing up, mainly because I’m not a productive member of society and I don’t know what’ll happen to my routine after I turn 18. Like sure, I read stories for YouTube, write a lot, but that’s all just shit I do in my free time. I enjoy doing those things, and I feel like turning 18 is going to ruin all that.

So, I projected onto Andromeda, because she was terrified too, except she was forced into it. She didn’t tell her brother about the whole ordeal because, “That’s not what big mares do.” So, she grasped onto her innocence and tried to hold that for as long as she physically could before she was crushed under the weight of it all.

It was a great idea, but the execution ended up a little sloppy. I probably just should’ve written a fable.

No influences besides the usual, really, though I was somewhat inspired by Pixar’s Onward for the ending,

And until next time; be awesome!
