    Something To Think About

I have a message to share with prospective authors. If you go into writing a story---be it as a living, or just for fun---don't automatically assume that what you're doing is wholly original.

    Tired, Running On Empty

That pretty much summarizes my mental state of the past few days. Constantly tired (half due to not getting enough sleep and half due to my walking regimen), and I can't really think of things I want to write for the story. You know you're having trouble finding things to talk about when your brain fishes for tuna, but ends up with guppies instead.

    So INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATED Right Now

I copied the latest chapter of M.L.G. to my flash drive as usual. I took it home with the intent to post it today. I double-click the file.

How Curtis Wildcat Writes the World

Or, to put it another way, the rules I abide by when it comes to the stuff I write on this site. My mind doesn't necessarily function the same way everyone else's does, so there may be some discrepancies. Have some background music in the meantime.

Something to Look Forward to in August

There've been a few comments in my most recent chapter of M.L.G. saying that they were curious about the "City-Wide Heartsong" plan I originally had for Illudere's battle. Obviously I can't go back and make that huge a change to the story, but what I can do is start planning ahead for the Third-Anniversary Chapter in August.

FoUR, Move Aside: MLG's Taking Over · 4:20am Dec 29th, 2021

I've got a couple things to talk about here. First, a bit of music to set the mood.

Back in 2012 elsewhere on the Internet, I wrote a little story called "Fantasy of Utter Ridiculousness", a Touhou/MEGAS XLR crossover. I wrote it entirely on impulse because I wanted to see MEGAS fight against the size-changing Suika Ibuki. To my surprise, a handful of people actually liked it and drove me to write more for it. After I finished it a few years later, I thought to myself: "That story's going to be my magnum opus, fanfic-wise. Nothing else I've done has come even close, and there's no way I'm going to be able to top it in the future."

I'm beginning to think that I concluded that too soon.

"Manehattan's Lone Guardian" is fast becoming one of my favorite stories that I've ever done, and it's due in large part to you. Like with FoUR, I wrote the first chapter entirely on a whim, and the interest you showed pushed me forward and encouraged me to keep going. This stands a good chance of beating out everything else I've done (not like that's difficult :ajbemused:) as the best fanfic I've ever written. So to all of you that have liked the story (and even to those who don't; I'm not blind to my own failures >^_^<), favorited it or whatever, let me just say this:

Thank you all. Very, very much. Here's hoping it reaches the very end.

Now to all of you, a question. You might have read a few of my character profiles here. In them, I mention who my OCs sound like to me when I'm reading over the chapters. I have no idea who Leviathan would sound like if she were given an English voice, however. My question is: who do you think, strictly hypothetically, would make a good voice for her?

That's it for now. Ciao mein, everyone.
