It has been a couple of months, hasn't it?
Well, first off...
Happy Holidays! To whatever is your cup of tea in the dark days of December. Enjoy them in whatever way you can.
Second...
I just finished Autumn Scarlet! As I stated in one of my previous blogs, I meant to publish the last chapter in December of 2020. Buuuuut I got hit by Covid-19 right at the beginning of that month. So yeah, it threw my plan off by a year. Eventually, I was able to work back on it and decide to publish it on the last day of Autumn or the first day of Winter depending on where you lived. So if you haven't read the last chapter, then go ahead and jump into it. It feels so good to complete my first story on this website.
So that leads to my third thing...
As I have indicated in my last blog, I was moving locations. It was a tough decision and took a lot of effort but I can say that I officially live in the Seattle area now! So the main reason I haven't been publishing is that it took a lot longer to establish and find a place than I wanted it to. I can say that it was tough and nearly brought me down several times. But I managed to make it. So, yeah between now and September was one of the most difficult times in my life. But that is okay because now I'm stronger, wiser, and back better than ever. I swore to myself that I will move out of Ohio and find a new place to roost by the end of this year. AND I F@#@%$$ DID IT! Surprisingly, I still have feelings for Ohio (and of course Trotcon) but I just didn't want to live there forever. I felt trapped. Unmotivated and defeated. It just felt like I wasn't going to go anywhere. But now that I'm in Washington State, I feel things are changing!
So what is the future of 2022 like for me and my pony fics? Of my regular life and the various cons that I want to go to?
Well as of right now don't expect too many updates. Part of the consequences of moving here was that my finances were shredded in the effort. Luckily (and the main reason I went out here), I managed to snag two jobs that I was able to work with and fit into my schedule. So I have been working nearly seven days for the past month. Between that and Christmas/ New Year's, I have been quite busy. Not to worry, I will quit my side job soon to free up time to write and rest. But it won't probably happen until February/ March. The best-case scenario is that I finished the fics I have on stand-by AND get into the Sci-Fi contest on Jan 8. The worst case is that I am only going to have Winter Blue be published if that. But I hope that I can improve on that. One of the best things is that my apartment complex has a small lobby that I have claimed to be my writing spot. Along with the nearby coffee and water refill, it has become the best place for me to write away. Additionally, to writing my pony stories, I'm also going to make the effort to write on my main fiction stories and other ideas. My goal is to have a rough draft done by my thirtieth birthday in March. So we will see how it goes. Wish me luck!
One last thing is that I hope to get back into Cons (with Covid not prevailing, I hope). I'm certainly going to Everfree NorthWest in August if they happen. And since I already got the ticket before the pandemic. I hope to go to Trotcon in July. Now I want to go to BabsCon but I don't if I'm able to this year. If not hopefully, next year. Vanhoover Pony Expo will most likely be in 2023 as I don't have a passport and all the Covid is still being dangerous. If it gets worse then I guess this whole point is moot because all Cons will probably cancel. But I want to keep going to cons, maybe host a few panels. But that will be in the future. Which I hope will be awesome.
So anyway, I hope you all have a safe and wonderful winter. I'll try to even with my body wanting to hibernate. It's great to be here. Thanks for reading and will see you all next time!
