Orbiting Kettle

I've roasted a wealth of exotic things, All torn to ribbons at the hands of kings. Polished copper how I proudly shone, stealin' the fire of the blazing sun.

Reading of Cookies at Midnight · 12:34pm Dec 19th, 2021

Hello all, I'm still alive, although generally overwhelmed (in a positive way) by life.

So, I'm briefly popping in to point you at something awesome Quinch has done. They made a wonderful reading of Cookies at Midnight that you can find right here: https://youtu.be/BGjwXzmeLMQ

Go there, it's worth it, they've done a fantastic job.

It blows my mind that I am still finding new fanfic readers out there. :D

Hurray for (mostly) positive overwhelming!

I'm still alive

Glad you're alive and that the overwhelming is generally positive. :)

I kinda wish the MLP audiobook/dubbing scene was a bit more organized - there's a few big names, but I've noticed a lot of readers seem to go under the radar.

I don't even know what kind of organization could be done.

The best I've got is my spreadsheet, which is only organized insofar as I list all the readers I've ever listened to. But if I don't like or can't use someone, they only show up once. :B

Honestly, even just having an index of readings would be a massive benefit. It's true that pretty much everyone can and does upload their stuff to YouTube, but because The Algorithmâ„¢ has gradually morphed into, well, borderline unusable garbage, searching for fic reads, let alone by genre or details is pretty much impossible. There's multiple discords for MLP readings, but none of them really act as a strong gravity well for lesser-known readers and, again, that doesn't really help with showcasing various works.

These days, every new reader I've found has either come across my dash like in this post, or, more likely, come up in one of Scribbler's compilation videos. Seriously, those almost always have someone new, it's incredible. :O
