Chapter 14 is out and it went a direction I wasn't expecting, so that's pleasantly surprising. Gotta fit in a few more stories and angles to these characters, you know? Also, Fleur's theme! I bet those who know Caravan Palace have been waiting for when this song would show up. It's been Fleur's theme the entire time! Just needed a chapter that it fit, and this one just so happened to explore her more than I thought it would at first, so it gets Lone Digger. I linked the SFW version, of course. The fic is teen, but I am not gonna link a bloody, furry strip club video. I already pushed it with Wonderland. Still wondering if I need to use a non-video version for that one, but it's the only song so far with its video portion as important as the audio for her character.
Speaking of... I should probably make a blog post about each character's theme songs soon. At this point, I've used most of them.
So, you may have also noticed that 15 turned into 14. That is because I have combined Chapters 1 and 2 back together as they were originally written. Since I broke the 5K word limit on myself pretty handily with the chapters Wonderful Moonlight and Leave Them in the Gutter, I decided that it would serve the fic better if Chapter 1 was back to its monstrous length. It's kind of a gambit to see if new readers will give the fic a chance as nothing really happened in Chapter 1 the way it was written, so hopefully if anyone tries the fic out again next time it had a chance to be seen on the updated tab, there might be more that give it a shot.
In other news, I've been helping a few writers around the site as well...
I helped with these pretty extensively, and I am glad I did. Both of them did well, garnering more likes and hits than my more recent one shots. Makes me wonder what I might be doing wrong. Either I am missing something with my releases or I just don't write things people want to read. I do focus on background ponies and perhaps folks just don't care about them? Anyway, I'm definitely a better writer than an editor since I am so exhausted by the end of editing something. It's one of the reasons I gave up programming when I was young, but who knows.
Doesn't change the fact that I am glad to be credited in both fics, even if one of them is not my usual cup of tea. Congratz to my Discord friends on their success. I hope Electro Swing eventually gets seen by enough people to get into Featured. I think it's good enough to be in there for at least one day. But if not, I hope you guys that do read it let me know what you think. I like hearing for you in the comments and like/dislike ratio.
