Hello once more Every Pony,
Well, I was bit by the G5 bug to write something based on the movie so I wrote am idea for a 'deleted scene' that I thought came out not too bad for something so short. I am a big fan of Hitch Trailblazer; the first male character of the franchise that is part of the lead cast of characters and I'm excited to see what the new writers have in store for him.
As I have been in search for a new editor for the past 10+ months and made a couple inquires to some member of the fandom here on FiMFiction and around the ol' Interweb, Kitty Saphire 8989, Slick Foxy Chic and The Barron (my artist and writing cohorts) discussed the idea of maybe writing a 'reconciliation letter' for my former editor. Kitty had known my editor for better than 6+ years and were good friends too; I was introduced to Kitty through her at a meeting of a comic book show and, in turn, I introduced Kitty to The Barron, a coworker of mine who is a published and 'in field' artist who has done licensed work for both Hasbro and Kenner toys doing packaging artwork for toy boxes and has his finger of the pulse of the comic book world.
It has been very hard for Kitty and myself to not have someone around to look over out writing work with a critical eye. She and I are relying ourselves now to get the stories right and hopefully not sounding like garbage. My MLP G5 story is the first I've done from start to finish by myself without anyone else editing it. It was only 15 pages long so the editing wasn't so bad; (I pray I got all the mistakes!). But for the big Wonderbolt story, that's something else entirely.
There are/were topics and subjects the recent chapter I posted and the next two chapters that are in the pipeline do/did touch on topics I wanted write about and are VERY important to me; in essence one of the major cruxes of why I decided to try and write the Wonderbolt story to begin with her. Same much with Kitty and her manga, I was able to bring a different perspective to her story she liked, although she snarked some at my repeated abuse of the magic elements in her world and I was 'using them wrong' for the most part. For helping her get some of her ideas in order to move her manga story forward, she agreed to help me work out one of the MOST IMPORTANT scenes in the whole story by, believe it or not, ACTING out the scene together and trying to write down what it is we say to each other. Kitty is actually very interested in helping work out this scene with me; she wants me to do the same for a part of her manga and see if it works! I get to play some 'bad guy' characters she is developing and though having me act them out, might help flesh out their personas.
The nucleus for another MLP G5 story has begun and it's going to be, I think, under 100 pages. Trying to write something that is direct, gets to the point quickly and ends with some kind of believable resolution is going to be tough. My pacing is slow and I get way too wordy. I want to try and have this posted by the New Year, along with the next 2 chapters for the Wonderbolt story.
