Help! My Heart is Full of Pony! - That Picture Frame · 2:58pm Nov 16th, 2021

Can we talk for a minute about this picture on the wall, the monumental symbolism the filmmakers managed to instill in it, and how soul-crushingly devastating it is when Sunny comes home after having failed her mission, and DOESN'T straighten it out?

Even after the lighthouse was in ruins, it was this very picture - in its now broken frame - that managed to unite the pony races in compassion for Sunny's suffering. Even Phyllis, who never like Argyle, makes a gesture of good will by straightening it out.

I normally offer analysis, or zany theories, or obscure observations, but this is something everypony here already knows. Yet I feel it deserves pointing out simply for appreciation's sake.

This was masterfully executed. I get emotional just thinking about it. How many of you folks cried?

I did! It was a beautiful scene and really brought Sunny’s message home to everypony.

"and how soul-crushingly devastating it is when Sunny comes home after having failed her mission, and DOESN'T straighten it out"
Oof, yes.

"How many of you folks cried?"
I don't recall one way or another whether I teared up at any of the various bits with the picture prominent -- but there was definitely some significant emotional impact, yes, as I also believe I recall.
