    Animation Struggles and burn-out

5 months later, I have to admit that I do feel as though I backtracked on the progress I made as an animator.

    Hellhounds are nice

About two months later I wanted to drop another blog here. Albeit due to Patreon I've actually been posting blogs every single week to talk about stuff I'm working on and throughout that whole time quite a few things happened that I just wanted to update on here. First off I got 300+ Followers on twitter after 6+ months which is nice. I don't receive any comments still, but I've realized that's

    Animation Update

So since the last blog I had literally, on the day of, started a massive animation project. I didn't realize how massive it was, but it has been about 3 months now and it still isn't finished despite having worked nearly every day on it. I had a whole schedule for it too, work 5 days a week for 2 hours animating. I thought that'd knock it out of the park, but I've only animated 3 minutes so far

    A tossed aside storyline

I decided to release all my previously planned storylines that I had drawn up and I have a LOT of them, and some are vague, some are detailed, and more than a few aren't even MLP related. I think that by having to throw my ideas out in the wild, I could re-examine them. Ideas are only as good as the execution, so I don't believe any of them are good due to my failure to complete the stories

So last blog I posted wasn't a real update. It was generally a way to showcase how I throw ideas at a wall until something sticks. Allow everything to spiderweb. Now that's all well and good, but it was a giant wall of text with a story in its own right trying to detail the plot and setting of an RP while also giving an inside look on some characters. It was a condensed mess and even condensed it was long as all hell. With this in mind allow to give some reading recommendations, seaborn, Paper Girl, and The Tirek Who Tolerated Me.

I'll go ahead and talk a little about each first before I go on my usual off topic escapade. First off Seaborn is the first RGE fic I have read and the setting surprised me, there were only OCs as far as I was aware with a setting that was entirely new to me. Barely felt like MLP at all and more of an interesting fantasy scenario where a human comes to a world devoid of humanity, and the human in question also reflects this. He's more of a demon than a man. He plays into that power fantasy of humans being top of the food chain. I really enjoy this sort of thing, and if you enjoy that sort of thing as well give it a shot.

Now Paper Girl is interesting cause for one it's a completed story. It technically is a sequel to a one shot so give that a read first if you really wanna see if this is for you. General premise is simple, intriguing and exciting to me. Rarity is a total sociopath, she's not this heartfelt kind individual; instead she's willing to run someone over and hide the body. She's generous in the way that it helps her keep a functional life with other people, but remains eternally selfish. So I highly recommend reading this, it is definitely worth the attention to check out.

Then finally we have The Tirek Who Tolerated Me which has a special place in my heart. It explores a character I have not seen much of, going deep into how someone could become genuine friends with her. The spy was a perfect candidate as they have similar views. Playing off each other in the best ways possible while having ridiculous comedic moments where sometimes a song will just spontaneously break out between characters. It kept the world as silly as possible to contrast with Spy's grim one at home. Yet they don't ignore how silly TF2 is either as you see Tirek in Spy's body as well. Everything about this is great to me. Check this fic out are I'm gonna hunt all of you down.

Now as a sidenote I have gotten a new job. I work in a warehouse now on the graveyard shift from 10:00 PM to 6 or in the morning, so that has been interesting. Pays a whole lot more than fast food I can tell ya that. Now that has gotten me reading a lot more admittedly, got me wanting to write too as I just read some fics that makes me want to see how I would do that scene...generally for fics that I get these thoughts they're generally pretty bad. Not bad in concept, just execution, hence why I still read and enjoy them cause my mind is filling in the blanks. I haven't recommended any of them so far, but if ya'll are willing I can definitely throw a few out. They do have really good moments that keep me reading if a mixed bag is what you want.

On another note my Modeling stuff has been slowed to a halt again. Not for any special reason, I just haven't picked it up much. There's just not anything I want to model that I think I could feasibly actually model. My skills are still poor and I can only do general stuff. Finer details become lost to me and I know the best way to get around this is to start making a lot of stuff that has or needs the finer details, but I just haven't. Considering how off and on I've been about it, I will probably get back to it eventually.
