I reckon an important but oft. overlooked factor is just how many people are operating in low‐light environments. Dark mode works just fine at night or if you have the blinds all drawn, but there are some people who actually enjoy sunlight. Fucking daywalkers.
I browse the site in light mode, and have my fic read settings on ultradark. That way, I am aware of exactly when I have reached the end of a chapter.
