Update On the State of the Dewdrops (Oct 4th) · 5:39pm Oct 4th, 2021

Hello my lovely readers. I know it's been a little while since you've heard from me, and not much has been said.

I wanted to give you an update on things, let you know how stuff is going. TLDR: Stuff is not going as well as I would have liked. I spent most of September trying to recover from various health related things as well as potential writer's burnout regarding Phoenix, so while I've worked a bit on it here and there I haven't done much yet, because I haven't had the focus. There've been a lot of medical things going on with me, and a couple of them got worse... one in particular is going to keep getting worse until I can finally get treatment for it and that's been under a significant delay.

There has also been a substantial upset with my job. I cannot go into specific details, but I was effectively laid off my supervisor position and returned to a regular phone agent. This is problematic in several ways, not the least of which is how it will affect my free time. Given that last year around this same time is when I started Danganronpa: In Harmony's Wake and I managed to finish that monstrosity of a story within 136 days, I know I'll have free time to write. It's a case of having the energy and focus to do so, which is what my health issues have been affecting so much. Still, it won't be as much free time, so that'll slow things down.

That said I haven't been entirely unproductive. I've got a couple of short stories I've dabbled at(including a fun little mature romp featuring Rainbow Dash and a surprise guest) and I've been pre-reading various stories for some friends, done a bunch of reviews over at the Reviewer's Mansion, and have been helping out Bicyclette with her Comment Club, which is a group that's dedicated around helping to provide substantial comments for stories that are lacking or otherwise would like some more attention. She would love it if more people could join, so by all means, we welcome all. You get to nominate your own stories and there's voting on the comments and it's all in good fun.

Regarding Star Trek: Phoenix, here are my plans for updating it. Right now while I haven't gotten much done, I intend to get back to it and really amp up production. I do not intend to return to posting until I have a buffer of at least five edited and ready to go episodes/mini episodes, so I'll have the whole of season two finished before I start publishing again. My hope is to get that done this month and then start posting at the beginning of November, but please do not hold me to this date. I do have many medical appointments this month and other things that could still interfere. But if I can get my butt back into gear on this, and I hope I can, I'm really hoping to give you all more Trek.

Thank you all so much for your patience. I appreciate every one of you, and I hope that things have been going well for you. Until next time, my readers.

Hope everything works out for you.

as much as i love your story Phoenix and would love to get more of it your health is always #1.
you take all the time you need to get your life in order before you worry about pony words ..

You take as much time as you need, but focus on your health above all else.

Good luck to you!

I'm about in striking distance of finishing the first season of Star Trek: The Original Series. You got plenty of time before I finally catch up with everything and can really understand everything.

Still though, hooves crossed to see more in November. 🤞

When you get it going again, you might want to spread out the release schedule. I mean, maybe the pressure works for you, but I've seen many people burn out completely because they insisted on an over ambitious schedule. Just don't feel like you're letting people down when chapters aren't posted when planned, because you're not. Especially when you have other things to deal with, people can wait for the 100% free entertainment! So, take care of yourself first. We'll be here. And if you need help, don't forget to ask.

We got time for you, Dewdrops. Well, I do, at least. Take the time to feel better. Take the time to get your mind together to write what you WANT to write, not rushed trash to get the words out under a self-enforced 'deadline'. Come on baby, you can do it, take the time, do it right!

Remember, Time is on YOUR side, yes it is.

(two music puns in as many lines... as well as time jokes... better stop before I run overtime...)

Thanks for the update. Nice to know you're still alive and functioning.

Good luck with your real life! I'll be looking forward to Phoenix whenever it's ready!

Health is important and I can imagine how frustrating it is for you to be demoted. Take care and we will wait for more trek!
