Greetings and happy Friday to you all. This is Mr. J finally back to reviewing Disney Friday movies for you guys. This time, I will be reviewing one of Disney Pixar’s most underrated and fairly entertaining movies of all time: Cars. This was one of those movies that I grew up watching; in fact, I do remember enjoying it a lot when I was a kid and actually playing a Wii game based on it. It was a movie that I wanted my old friends and teacher from middle school to watch with me on a Friday (since every Friday, we would watch a movie requested by the class), but they all hated it for some reason.

Even to this day, I honestly still like it to a degree. I may not be a fan of it like I was before, but I still have a soft spot for it.

This film features actual talking cars with windshield-sized eyes and mouths. I mean, it’s a better concept than what the Emoji Movie came up with.

Our main character is named Lightning McQueen, voiced by Owen Wilson. I say that he is a good protagonist as he learns about what is more valuable than a mere empty trophy throughout his new journey. During his apparent captivity, he meets a tow truck named Mater, voiced by Larry the Cable Guy. Mater is definitely the funniest character in the film as he fills the story with solid humor, great personality, and decent dialogue. Props to both of their voice actors for bringing these characters to life with effort and passion.

Oh, and believe it or not, the antagonist Chick Hicks was voiced by Micheal Keaton. Yep, he was voiced by the Dark Knight himself in the form of a race car to antagonize McQueen. Let that sink in. Of course, the character was slightly entertaining although a bit annoying.

I also enjoyed the late Paul Newman’s vocal performance as Doc Hudson. Not only was he an inspiring character in this film but also Newman gave him the voice that just speaks of experience, courage, perseverance, and fun in a way. May he rest in peace.

The story was well-written, the pacing was kinda slow but decent, the humor was top-notch, and the characters were enjoyable to watch. Overall though, I wouldn’t consider it to be one of the best Pixar films. It’s definitely worth watching though, so I would honestly recommend it. 7/10 is what it gets at the finish line 🏁!

Peace out, folks!

There's definitely a valuable lesson to learn in this movie.

It's funny that you say it's underrated considering the amount of diecast merchandise it got. XD ...but in all seriousness, it's a good movie, with good characters, visuals, soundtrack, etc. I like it.

A gem from my childhood.

While, not one of my favourites, it´s still enjoyable to watch. I actuallly had toys of Lightning Macqueen and Sally. And a pencil case of Mater. Now that I think about it I actually had lots of Cars stuff :rainbowlaugh:.

HA! That actually reminds me, during middle school and high school, we had a class in which we saw movies or talked about issues, it was called `tutorship´. Anyway, in one of those, they played Ratatouille, which made me quite happy.
