We Bare Bears Wish Upon A Christmas Star Chapter 6 Karla, Estellar, And The Juniper Bear · 12:09am Sep 12th, 2021

Ever since Isaac and the others returned to the Post Office, Ice Bear spent most of the time sitting on his chair next to the exit. After waking up a few minutes earlier, he can’t even escape the mall to free himself, knowing he would hurt Chloe personally even when he’s far away from her.

“How can you expect us to believe this?” Riley asked while Issac’s eyes remained close.

“This cub over here, was never a grown polar bear.” Marty pointed. “And if he wasn’t your pet all along, what made you think bringing him here was okay?”

“Isaac has the answer, but refuses to speak out.” Isaac commented.

“Well, we can’t just leave him like this.”

Isaac knew there wasn’t a chance to turn back but he’s willing to resolve the solution. When he turned to the polar cub, he’s aware of how much the parade could ruin his wish. Just by watching the parade itself, Ice Bear wouldn’t even enjoy a single bit of it.

“This is Isaac’s problem, not including Riley and Marty.”

“I’m just thinking it would be much simpler if we help out.” Riley offered.

Their friend didn’t respond as he continued to set up the next delivery. After checking the name tags of Chloe’s package, he places it by Ice Bear, the cub taking notice.

“If he’s gonna keep following us during our deliveries, I'm pretty sure he won’t stay here once we’re all done.” Marty said.

Ice Bear couldn’t disagree anymore with Issac’s friends. If he had the chance to reverse the wish, he may have to wait for a full year for another shooting star to come pass. Issac’s friends looked at the cub, who’d remained silent since the day started.

“Is there a point of him always feeling down?”

“Especially on Christmas Eve?” Riley turned back to Isaac. “Did something happen to him?”

Isaac sighed, knowing he’ll can’t hold onto the secret from his friends forever. “It was a wish.” He spoked while not making any eye contact.

“You mean…a wish that actually happened?”

“I guess he really was a grown polar bear.” Marty replied.

Ice Bear lifted his head up, if he had the opportunity to tell Chloe the truth, his Christmas Eve could’ve been easier. He got off his chair while walking up to Issac’s friends.

“I would find it hard to believe he was turned into a cub the whole time, but I'm more surprised that wishes actually exist.” Riley picking up Ice Bear. “Do you think we should find Chloe’s parents?”

After Isaac placed the final box in the cart, he’s certain that Chloe could see the cub as Ice Bear. “Isaac’s gonna have Chloe learn about the truth on her own.”

Ice Bear blinked from the way his friend came up with his solution. Issac whispered into his friends’ ears which made them biased on the plan, but it could be the only way for the cub’s wish to come true.

Once Isaac and his friends left the post office, they went to the section where most of the people were working on the parade taking place outside. “You are aware Estellar is putting on her makeup in the changing room right?” Marty said, stopping the cart.

“And I can see they’re getting ready to come out soon.” Riley added.

“Isaac’s only finding one employee, that’s that.” Isaac commented while looking at the nametags. He took out the package that the employee brought at the last second last night. “Follow Isaac.” He looked down at the cub.

While walking with Isaac by his side, Ice Bear saw the preparations outside from the windows. He knew the parade itself wouldn’t be this huge compared to other parades from New York and elsewhere. However, like every other year, each parade becomes better than the last, almost what Panda’s wish means about memorability.

He then bumped into the post, catching him off guard only to realize it was part of a desk. He shook his head while Isaac placed the package on the counter. It didn’t take long until the employee came out from the back, after helping the other extras to get in their costumes.

“Sorry, the parade is gonna start in forty minutes, at least we’re this close to getting ready.” The woman spoked while looking at the package itself. “You're gonna watch the parade outside?”

Issac nodded, with his break time beginning fifteen minutes before the parade. “Isaac has something to show you.”

“Another package?”

“No.”

Ice Bear didn’t forget that voice during his cub years, as if it never changed over the last twenty years. When Iasac picked him up while showing it to the woman, Ice Bear’s memory caught up to him. It was the same woman he and his brothers met on the island when they were stranded.

As for the woman, she thought she was seeing things, but it wasn’t a plushie when it moved. “Is that the same jellybean from the island?” She looked closely at Ice Bear.

Isaac’s eyes shoot open, not moving a muscle while his friends overheard everything. “The wish did come true.” Marty blinked.

“This is the weirdest Christmas Eve I have ever witnessed.” Riley stunted.

The polar cub wasn’t even sweating from the way the woman was staring at him. He wasn’t in trouble, but couldn’t bear to think this wasn’t the same woman he saw from before. “Where did you find him?” She asked only for Issac to whisper into her ear. It took longer than expected for him but luckily, the woman was catching on easily.

“Thanks for letting me know, I’m Karla by the way.” Karla leaned back.

“Isaac wants Ice Bear safe from harm.” Isaac commented.

Ice Bear immediately turned around while Isaac walked away. Karla picked him up while taking him to the back. “Don’t worry, you'll be just fine.” Just knowing that his friends and others leave him behind, he can’t make up his choice other than Karla offering him an ultimatum. “I want to let you know that my life has changed since we left the island. But ever since I got rescued, you haven't changed a bit in my eyes.”

The cub completely forgot the whole split up once he and his brothers arrived in Japan from shore. He’s thankful he saved her life while staying away in a toxic love relationship with David but never imagined he would meet her again. If only he was in his true form instead of a cub, Karla would be the one taking the time to notice him.

“At first I thought I would never see you again, before me and David got stranded, our zoos never had cubs like you.” While she sat on a chair, next to Estellar’s room, she held her grip tightly onto the cub, while smelling the scent from him. “I’m mostly ashamed your brothers aren’t with you, but what matters is that you're safe with me.”

The one thing that Ice Bear feared most is what his future would’ve been but now, once the day is out, Karla would be willing to take care of him. If he’s gonna have to spend another twenty years to get back to his current age, it would be worth it.

Then Estaller’s door opens up, revealing her makeup artist. “You can come in now.” She smiled.

Karla entered the changing room while seeing Estellar checking herself through her mirrors. “This parade’s gonna be so much fun.” She spoked while putting on her Santa hat. Her attention was glued when she laid eyes on the polar cub. She got off her chair while looking at Ice Bear. “You didn’t tell me you found a polar bear.”

“Technically a delivery group sent me this jellybean. They offered for him to be part of the parade.” Karla replied. “I’m aware that last minute decisions aren't important right now but polar bears are somewhat Christmas related.”

Estellar wasn’t against the idea, as a matter of fact she found an interesting way to make the parade better. “Polar bears aren’t related to this holiday, but considering this fella is a cub, I’m sure it won’t hurt for him to be a small attraction of the parade.”

Ice Bear didn’t know what to expect by this point, after Isaac and his friends dropped him off, all he could do was follow what came his way. But with the idea of being in a parade, he wondered if Chloe would notice him from before.

It didn’t take long until Karla handed the cub to Estellar, taking it from here. “We should get going now.” She looked straight to the cub. “This would be an interesting parade.”

They all left the changing room, everyone from the back is heading outside to get in their spots in the parade. As for Estellar, her personal grandstand is the biggest for anyone to see. She would have Ice Bear to be a reindeer but knowing full well he would be blocked off by the reindeers, it would be a bad idea. If it’s always possible for everyone to give her attention, she’ll have to share it with the cub.

They walked out to the door with Ice Bear covering his eyes in response to the sun shining into his eyes. When he saw what was in front of him, he thought he would be placed somewhere towards the beginning of the parade, but he thought wrong.

“Let’s have ourselves a wonderful Christmas, shall we?” Estellar smiled, while rubbing the cub’s head.
