    Extra Life 2021 Informational Post

Well, it's been five years since I've last attempted to livestream for 24 hours for the Extra Life charity. With my improved setup, I've decided to do so again.

    Nostalgia

As someone who played Destiny 1.0 like mad for two months in an effort to feel like I had recouped the $60 I spent, I'm feeling rather nostalgic for the time that everyone just defaulted to blaming Activision for all of Destiny's problems.

    Anyone else?

Because goddamn has Bungie got a fucking hard-on for sunsetting and vaulting paid content.

    Just beat Terminator Resistance.

Well, when I haven't been writing or working, I've been slowly making my way through Terminator Resistance, after hearing too many good things.

IGN scored it a 4/10, while Steam users have it currently rated at a 92/100. That's quite the disparity.

It started with an ice cream product being taken off the market... · 6:32am September 8th

...And it ended with therapy.

Finally got done with the sixth and final season of Steven Universe last night. The last quarter of Season 5 had some pacing issues, but other than that, this was a very fun and engaging series, and likely ended at the right time. I see why bronies flocked to it.

Peridot, Pearl, Spinel, Padparadscha, and Lapis are best gems, in that order.

Greg is best human. His was also the best cartoon 'nope' I've ever seen. Probably the funniest moment of the show too.

If anything in this show needs a spinoff, it's the Star Trek-style adventures of Lars and the Off Colors. They were not given nearly enough screen time, and it was absolutely stellar character development for Lars. Pun intended.

That's all for now. Catch you clods later.

I really love how the show handles consistency and is not afraid to make change

When Greg got rich, I 'fully' expected him to lose all his money by the end of the episode, as is standard in cartoons. But nope, he kept it, and only did some occasional spending.

And like, in terms of consistency, there are so many callbacks and things that stay, instead of just resetting to a blank slate every episode like so many other cartoons. The hole they drill to the cluster stays around, and eventually becomes a pool. You see Pink Diamond's legs the first time Steven visits them.

I agree on that spin-off for Lars.
