We Bare Bears Wish Upon A Christmas Star Chapter 4 Behind The Scenes Of Baby Crowbar Jones · 3:13pm Aug 29th, 2021

Griff and Grizz went to the second floor of the mall, where the Crowbar Jones set is located. At first the grizzly cub was aware of what their co-workers would think, learning that he’s somewhat late to perform, but he came up with a solution.

“You do realize they’re not gonna see you as...you right?” Griff wondered. “You don’t even have time to rewrite the script.”

“I know, but I can still change the title.” Grizz smiled.

“Nothing against your creative style, but your original title was Crowbar Jones: Christmas Reckoning. And judging how your films are always about action, I’m not sure if your fans will like the idea of a little bear fighting bad guys.”

Grizz always knew little cubs would never fight, especially in being part of an action film. But at the same time, he meant what he wished last night. “I wished for Crowbar Jones to be cute, it’s supposed to give my newer films more variety.”

“Variety, did your fans request that your fictional character should be cute?”

“Hey, it’s not easy to come up with something new every now and then.”

“Okay, that’s true, but I’m sure no one expected the main character to be a cub.” Griff and Grizz saw the step up of Crowbar Jones, cardboard cutouts of the fictional character himself. “Looks like your crew might get your answer.”

Despite the unfortunate implications, Grizz is willing to keep his wish going. “I got this covered myself.” He walked up to the stand where one of the crew members took notice.

“Umm...where’s Grizz?” He blinked upon looking at the cub.

“He got cave fever.” Grizz smiled which caused Griff to lower his head.

“Cave fever? On Christmas Eve?”

“Hey winter has started, he needs to be prepared for hibernation for the winter.”

The two crew members looked at each other with the presents of a bear cub instead of a grown bear. They’re planning to shoot the first scene where Crowbar is celebrating the holidays at his house.

“May I ask, who are you?”

“I’m Grizz Jr. I’m Grizz’s youngest son.”

The crew then looked at Griff. “So...Grizz is actually part of a family?”

“Let’s just say that love finally got to him.” Griff said, forcing an awkward smile.

“Then...you’re meaning to tell us he has cave fever and is dealing with his wife? That seems really off for him to deal with, we should head over there.” Just when the crew went past Grizz, Griff stops them.

“He made a backup script.”

“A backup script? Shouldn’t we rehearse, we don’t have time to change our sets.”

Then Griff pointed at Grizz with the script in his arms. He lifted them up for the crew to read them, hoping the changes will work out for his film. When the crew took a look at the last minute changes to the script.

“Crowbar Jones...The Rewinding Noel Clock?” One of the crew members spoked upon looking at the title. When they look at the script itself, almost all of their lines and choreography remain the same as before. Although the majors changes involving Grizz Jr. as Crowbar Jones doesn’t seem right.

“Did your father record the scene where he turns into a cub because, I don’t see that whatsoever in the beginning.”

“He did, we just...had our internet connection taken down. He’ll put that in once I come back with the finished footage.” Grizz smiled while he headed into one of the set rooms.

“Wait a second.” The crew member picked up the cub. “I’m not against this, but aren’t you too young for this?”

“Yeah, it doesn’t feel right for a cub to be the main character of a Crowbar Jones film.”

“Well, he did take acting lessons after watching the other Crowbar Jones with his family.” Griff smiled while the other crew members looked at him. “I know it’s hard to believe but I’ve talked to Grizz and he wanted Crowbar Jones...to be cute.”

The crew themselves have always remembered Grizz’s fictional character as an entertaining and lovable character upon exposure on the internet. But seeing him adorable as a cub takes away most of the entertainment of the character. But for the lovability, not in the same way of what people currently enjoy.

“Why don’t you get our sidekick actor while we talk to Grizz Jr. We still need to work this out.”

When one of the crew members pointed at the tent next to the set, Griff made his way over. “Let’s talk in the set room.” As they pick up the Grizzly cub, they head inside the first room where they will be shooting. Just like how Grizz set up all the cardboard and other accessories, the co-workers made the production feel like an actual Crowbar Jones set. Amateuresque and full of charm.

While the crew placed Grizz by the artificial Christmas tree, they took a deep breath, while thinking about the slight change of plans. “This may be irrelevant, but when we were young, we watched a sitcom called Family Troubles where there’s another Grizzly Bear who...was part of the family.”

“Oh, I was part of that classic!” Grizz cheered causing the crew members to back away slightly. “Oh I mean, I bet it was hard for them to find the perfect grizzly cub for the family.”

“Uh-huh. But our point is, that bear wasn’t in an action show because he wasn’t adventurous.”

“Especially when a sitcom separates cuteness and…” The other crew member looked at the set itself before turning to Grizz. “Video making style, despite having less action pack effects.”

Grizz trusted the crew he associated with months before this holiday arrived. They agreed with all of the decisions he made, including having the shoot take place in the mall. But even as a cub, his wish is just as harmless like every other wish that’s granted from all over the world.

“Maybe we can have our antagonist be a child actor to make things even.”

When the two crew members blinked in disbelief with an answer so clunky, they thought the cub was just messing around. “Is it really worth it to find one child who would accept the deal of being a villain?”

Grizz remembered the many children he and Griff came across on the way here. There is not a single child who felt spoiled during this time of year. “Maybe you're right, the tweaks to the script won’t make the film consistent.”

“It’s an amateur film, not a blockbuster budget film, but still, amateur style needs to make sense most of the time.”

“I GET IT ALREADY!”

Grizz and the others heard rage from the outside of the set. When they come out, they saw Griff arguing with Nom Nom, Grizz’s secondary protagonist of the film.

“We’re gonna shoot in five minutes, just tell Grizz that I’m-” Nom Nom cut himself when he saw Grizz face to face, but as a cub. “More than unprepared.”

Grizz’s eyes shot wide, forgetting that Nom Nom agreed to be in his film with a few conditions. But now, knowing his diva friend isn’t aware he just turned into a cub, he’s unsure if he can accept this change, unlike the times from before.

“Uhhh...my father didn’t tell me I was working with other actors.” Grizz acting casually.

“Then you clearly have the same issues as him.” Nom Nom making a grumpy look while turning to Griff. “Did he tell you about this?”

“Yes but don’t blame me, he’s having cave fever.”

Nom Nom groaned in annoyance. “There is no way he’s having that, especially during Christmas! I’ve postponed my schedule today and all I get is this cub of a nobody.”

Upon getting insulted from Nom Nom, Grizz got annoyed, even if the diva is his closest friend when it came to internet celebrities. As he sighed, he walked up to Nom Nom, only for him to take one step back.

“Look, you're cute, I’m cute, Grizz just wanted his Crowbar Jones movie to be cute. Isn’t that too much to ask?”

“No but even if he were here right now, you can’t expect me he’ll direct a film with a baby bear facing off against another baby bear. Or even taking down another piece of cardboard.”

“As much as he’s not in charge, he does make a point.” The crew member responded. “We can’t do this film without Grizz doing the villain.”

This caused Grizz to sweat, fearing if his wish backfired. “Grizz...Jr.” Griff snapping the cub out of it. “Relax, this is your first time acting in a Crowbar Jones movie.”

“And that’s the problem, even if I’m part of it, people online wouldn’t care about his presence.”

This caused Griff to sigh, after dealing with Nom Nom’s attitude for the first time. “You know, life isn’t the same when you're not famous.”

“He’s not wrong.” Grizz said, trying to lighten up the mood. “Even if the odds are against us, we can still do this. All we need to do is to find the perfect child actor to become the villain.”

As Grizz walked past his crew, Nom Nom grabbed onto his paw. “If you expect me to wait for nearly an hour while you find a child actor, then I might as well be part of the parade.”

Just when Nom Nom was about to find his personal entourage, a child popped out behind the Christmas tree, causing the koala to falled down. “Ha! Got ya!” He taunted. “Even during this holiday, you're so easily fooled for a jumpscare.”

As Grizz tries to help out the koala, Nom Nom’s temper is boiling up inside, witnessing his internet star rival. “Andy Bangs! Don’t you ever stay home for the holidays!?”

“I would, but I have all the money to buy myself the toys I want.” Andy grinned. “And what are you doing? Filming a baby preschool’s film?”

“Hey, it’s a Crowbar Jones film!” Grizz shouted back.

“I was kidding, I know what I’m talking about.” As Andy sucked on his candy cane, he checked on the set of the Crowbar Jones film. “As a matter of fact, I’ve enjoyed one of the films.”

“He’s only messing with you, do you think he would enjoy that kind of entertainment?” Nom Nom retorted.

“Looks like you’ve caught on to your number one enemy on social media.” Andy walked up to the koala. “But I never lie to anyone, I’m not a con artist.”

“Yeah, as if you scaring everyone on a daily basis, nobody wouldn’t forget it.”

Grizz remembered where he and his brother became Nom Nom’s entourage at one point. Other than being used, he never liked Andy Bangs at all. For the way he scared Panda and used his own entourage to fight him at the back of the nightclub.

“You know, if you're really a fan of Crowbar Jones, you would prove it by showing it.” Grizz standing up to Andy. “Nom Nom may only be part of it for attention, but he at least liked it.”

“Oh really? Then how come I don’t see that from him?” Andy glared while smiling.

“And how did you know I…’liked it’?” Nom Nom raising an eyebrow.

“Umm...lucky guess??” Grizz sweated.

“This was a bad idea.” Griff whispered to himself. “How worse can this get?”

The koala turned to the twelve year old, still feeling insulted with his fist clenched tightly. “There’s one thing you need to get in your head!” He pointed at the child’s head. “I’ve done far more commercials to be cute for days on end. It’s far more than what you have achieved!”

“I’m not blind, I’ve seen almost all of your commercials. I just picked the easy way for popularity.” Andy crossed his arms while keeping his grin. “It isn't simple to get that when people find it good.”

Nom Nom tried to hold more of his temper, but he couldn't disagree with his rival at all. He gasped, unable to muster up a response. “You know what, how about you see how simple it is to be part of an amateur film!”

“Oh, so you want a challenge on Christmas Eve?”

“I never lose!”

“So do I.”

“Then let’s shake on it!”

Grizz’s eyes shot open, concerned from the way things are going at the moment. “What’s going on?”

“So what’s the challenge?” Andy staring at Nom Nom’s paw.

“I’m gonna change the entire Crowbar Jones film and you will be the villain! I don’t care if this is Grizz’s movie, I’ll prove my vision is better than his.”

“Uhhhh???” Grizz feeling offended.

“And how will one of us be victorious?” Andy liked the idea.

When Nom Nom looked at the mall itself, there were still more people arriving. Even if Grizz planned on doing the editing by the time he leaves, it doesn’t change how his wish affects his presents. “When everyone here picks the better character.” He turned back to Andy. “Me and Grizz Jr. versus you.”

“Then it’s a deal!” Andy shook on Nom Nom’s paw, accepting the challenge, confident he would beat him.

“Give me the script!” The koala demanded as the crew gave it to him. “Grizz Jr. you're coming with me to do this whenever you like it or not!”

Grizz stood in place, unable to process what's going on. He couldn’t stop the inevitable because he refuses to expose his truth to anyone. Little did he know, Andy Bangs wrapped his arm around him.

“Better make sure you're prepared for acting lessons because I’m way ahead of your lead.” As Andy leaves the cub all alone, he decides to scare someone else in the mall in his spare time. Griff walked up to the bear while he kneeled down, even though he can’t think of a way to help out.

“So...how will your wish come true now?” He wondered.

“Being with Nom Nom while facing off against Andy Bangs is far from what I imagined.” Grizz rolling her eyes. “But I'd rather make the best of it to see what happens.”

“Grizz Jr, come in here!” Nom Nom shouted, causing Grizz to lower his head as he followed him.

“Now I wonder what Panda and Ice Bear are feeling right now.”
