Welp, after all the heaps of praise that the Halo Infinite tech test got a few weeks ago, 343 has come forward and announced that Halo Infinite will not launch with co-op or Forge.
So after a delay of an entire year, Halo Infinite will launch without a feature that has been in the franchise, at launch, for 20 years.
Maybe I won't have a Top Games of 2021, because we're nearly at September, and... I have only played only one new title this year, New Pokemon Snap. The only other one on my radar right now is Battlefield 2042, because I am very much considering not getting Halo Infinite at launch now.
It has been six years since the last core Halo title, and this, personally, is the make-or-break time for 343 Industries. After a year delay, this game should be as robust as Reach was at launch (campaign, co-op, firefight, multiplayer, forge, theater).
But maybe we shouldn't hold developers to standards set eleven years ago.

What about call of duty, or the gen 4 remakes? True call of duty campaigns are short and eat a Tim if storage but campaign and multiplayer are fun to play

Cold war for os4 and mw2019 were good. I get there not for everyone, I honestly dont like battlefield. I know a ton of people do but I dont get the appeal

You should try CoD: BO2 and BO2, also BO: CW and MW(2019) are great!
Every time I hear more about Infinite I feel justified in my purchase of a PS5.

Honestly, it's not worth it at the moment. Loading times are nice and all, but so far there's not much of a reason to get one (other than to make your brother jealous).

I loved black ops, mw2019 and black ops cold war. Black ops 3 is meh
its a lot less bad than it was with halo 5, sense they were up front about it months in advance and wont be making us pay for it. The issue with halo 5 was that even more stuff was missing and they tried to cover it up. You also have to realize that they wrote a whole new engine for this game, which takes a while. But even disregarding all that, if we want crunch in the games industry to get better, and thus stop devs getting abused and worked into mental health hell,we have to expect either stuff like this, or even longer game turnover with how complex games are these days, it isnt the 90s anymore.
im not saying they are blameless, they aren't, but they aren't exactly ripping us off or lying. Assuming this will the start of them cutting stuff is also silly, as we have no logical reason to think this, emotional yes and I can understand that, but it isnt productive.
heck I even think they said in the announcement that they will be doing public flights for co-op and forge, but im mot 100% sure. they were in bwteen a rock in a hard place with this, cuz while they considered delaying the game, they ;ikley couldnt cuz not launching during the holidays would lose thier higher ups a ton of sales, so they were likley told they couldnt delay the game anymore.
should they still be critized? yes, but condemned and saying this game will flop? no, the first flight was great and 343 have ben far more open and honest and open to feedback than they have been for a while. I can totally understand not getting the game at launch tho.
